Fannin County's tax commissioner wants to remind property owners that the deadline to pay Fannin County (Georgia) property taxes is
December 20th !!!
Beverly Weaver, Tax Commissioner says anyone not able to pay their property taxes on time should contact the tax commissioner's office.  There will be additional fees charged for late payments.

Eatin' is Good in the Neighborhood ! Inspection of Local Restaurants in Fannin County - 12/16/07 06:30 PM
Fanin County's Health Department is the designated agency for conducting restaurant inspections as required by Georgia law.  In November, several local restaurants were inspected.  Violations are categorized as:
Category I        Hazardous and violations must be corrected immediately Category II      Critical and violations must be corrected within 72 hours Category III     General Georgia's food service regulations affecting restaurant food handling and inspection had several changes effective December 1.  A restaurant's inspection grade must be posted in plain view near the front door of the restaurant which also includes a drive thru window.  The inspection form will give a letter grade and a … (5 comments)

Well, it isn't snowing through the pines just yet but it is Christmas in Dixie and especially with these mortgage rates! Denise Greene, one our newest members on Active Rain and a very fine mortgage consultant sent an update to me today on current mortgage rates that she can provide through Mortgage of America Partners, LLC. Even though the rates edged slightly upward from last week, they are still fantastic! I have a 5.5% interest rate on my North Georgia log cabin and that rate is over 3 years old now.
