The small mountain town of Talking Rock is tucked away in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains in North Georgia. It is the third smallest town in the state. Talking Rock is full of charm and rich with history of the Trail of Tears and the Civil War. This town is located in Pickens county but used to be a part of Gilmer county.

The North Georgia Mountains offer great opportunities for hiking, camping and pure recreation . Whether you want to be in the high country, near a lake or rushing creek, or cascading waterfalls , North Georgia has it all!
Take for example Lake Blue Ridge , located in Fannin County Georgia. This lake is a pristine 3300 acre lake with over 100 miles of shoreline. Camping by the lake provides a cool mountain retreat.
