Enjoyed a fascinating tour of a local wildlife facilty in Morganton GA today. Dewar Wildlife caring for silverback gorillas. Many thanks to Stewart and JoBeth (owners and caretakers) and the volunteers and staff who made it such an enjoyable and educational experience. We would like to get the word out about this great place. They have just partnered with Zoo Atlanta and great things are sure to come. I love this time of year in the North Georgia mountains! Early Fall through December brings a wonderful feeling ofsheer delight. Beautiful changing leaves easily segway to a Christmas transformation turning our downtown Blue Ridge into a picturesque Christmas Village. It's as though you step into a Norman Rockwell painting.

I treat most mechanical things this way: flip a switch , it starts running, I'm happy. Then I go about by business never giving the mechanical thing another thought. Well, today, I learned that sometimes you need to know what it really means when you flip a switch.
For example, the direction a ceiling fan should turn in wintertime vs. summertime actually makes a difference. Texting Ban in Georgia Begins Today !
Senate Bill 360 and House Bill 23, both of which address cell phone usage while driving, takes effect today, July 1, 2010.
Senate Bill 360 seeks "to prohibit persons 18 years of age or older from using wireless telecommunications devices for sending or receiving text messages while operating a motor vehicle," according to the Georgia General Assembly's website. Drivers caught texting while driving will be fined $150 and get one point on their license. This also includes internet usage.
