It's tax time again !  I know, don't remind me, right?

Some homeowners may be expecting a property tax bill for the first half of 2011.  So, in case you are wondering why your property tax rates seem to change every year and how they are calculated by the government, here goes:

Property tax rates and a property tax assessment are different.
The rate at which your property is taxed is an overall percentage
The assessment is a valuation of your property's worth

I am an Associate Broker and real estate is my passion and my livelihood.  So perhaps, some will think I'm prejudice or seeing the condition of the housing market through rose colored glasses.  But it would not serve me well or benefit anyone reading this post, if I paint a rosier picture than what the real data shows. I am the sort of gal that wants  "just the facts ma'm"!

north georgia: Are You Mechanically Challenged? Today I Became a "C" Student - 11/05/10 08:00 AM
I treat most mechanical things this way:  flip a switch , it starts running, I'm happy.  Then I go about by business never giving the mechanical thing another thought.  Well, today, I learned that sometimes you need to know what it really means when you flip a switch.

For example, the direction a ceiling fan should turn in wintertime vs. summertime actually makes a difference.   Now, that cooler weather is here, I reversed the direction of my ceiling fan in my four season sunroon but it didn't seem to help warm the room so I'm thinking, this is not a … (5 comments)
