Does The Brokerage Name matter When Choosing A Realtor - 06/27/11 05:02 PM
Dave wrote this fantastic post that I thought was worth sharing. When it's time to sell your home, it's imperative to find the right agent AND company. I have the good fortune at Miranda Real Estate Group to be connected with supportive staff, accessible to fantastic technology & participate in on-going training... everything that allows me to be the best agent I can be to my clients. Let's SELL your home not just watch the grass grow around the For Sale sign! Mayette AND Miranda... Name DOES matter!

Indecision 2011 - 06/24/11 08:28 AM

This is a great post that I just had to share! A home purchase will most likely be the most expensive purchase of your life. If you're in the market for a new home, ask yourself "why?".  If this move is "the real deal", don't be afraid to move forward when you find a great home!

All around me, my colleagues are selling houses.  At the moment, I am not.
Over the past couple of months, I've run into buyers, both my own clients and those of other agents showing my listings, who seem to … (1 comments)

Understanding Credit Scoring & Credit Repair - 06/18/11 10:55 AM
This is a VERY informative post that deserved to be shared!!! Buyer clients -- do be sure to shop for loan programs that will best meet your needs. But as Austin points out, be sure your credit isn't pulled by each resource or you'll be doing your credit harm. ALSO -- once you go under contract be sure to maintain the "health" of your credit. No big shopping until after closing!!  :-)

Credit remediation is a subject consumers often face with fear and trepidation, and for good reason. With the exception of recognizing that the best score … (1 comments)

Good Customer Service... Demand it! - 06/13/11 08:54 AM
It was a busy weekend that included a number of retail interactions... big box stores, coffee shops, softball concession , pizza places, etc (yes! I really need to find the will & way to cook more at home this time of year!!).  Throughout the weekend, I found myself "grading" the customer service I received at these places...
* Saturday, 6:30 am.... "Good morning! How are you?," I ask the familar staff member before placing my breakfast order. Response? "Terrible! I had to get up!". GRADE? F!!!
* Saturday, 1:00 pm... I was asked "Can I help you find anything? No? OK. If you … (6 comments)

Sellers - Don't Let This Happen To You - 06/08/11 09:33 AM
I just had to pass along this post as it contains wonderful "food for thought". It's very easy for us to all remember our home worth at the height of the market. And it's a bit tougher for us to swallow the reality of that value now. Remember, if you didn't sell at the height, the money wasn't yours to have. Negotiate with the here & now and allow yourself to move on.

Hi Neighbor! I'll Miss You. Now Please Go Away....! - 06/07/11 09:53 PM

So, you've decided to sell your house. Will you miss your neighbors? What do the neighbors think? Are they supportive? Happy to see you go? Sad to see you move on? NEVER underestimate your neighbor's role in your time on the market. REALLY? Oh yes!
Now don't get me wrong. I've always been a "neighborhood girl". I think neighborhoods are wonderful. I grew up in a great neighborhood, moved to another great one as a teen & never even considered the option of a non-neighborhood home when it was my time to venture into the real estate market. That being said, on … (4 comments)
