Here are some steps you can take during the winter:
Make arrangements ahead of time. Identify a relative, friend or neighbor who you can stay with if you lose power.
Make a "Storm kit." Include battery-operated radio or television, flashlight, first aid kit, battery- powered clock, extra batteries, insulated cooler, emergency phone numbers.

Encore Announces Fall 2010 Schedule for Senior Adults 55+ in Maryland/DC/Virginia
Encore will be teaming with the Washington Conservatory to bring our tenth chorale to the MD/DC/VA area beginning in September.
Encore Creativity for Older Adults now has thirteen chorales for senior adults, 55 years of age and older, in Maryland, Virginia, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, and Washington, DC. Our complete list of Chorale locations and rehearsal times is below. Encore's Dance/Movement program, at Ballet NOVA resumes under the direction of Jane Franklin beginning Wednesday, September 15th . Registration is now open.

Weather permitting, the outdoor swimming pool in Leisure World of Maryland will open Saturday, May 29 and will be open through Labor Day, Sept. 7. Pool hours will be 10:00 am - 7:00 pm, seven days a week. Children's hours (ages 4 - 15) are 10:00 am - 1:00 pm ONLY. An adult in swimwear must accompany all children.
NEW THIS YEAR!Residents may use the outdoor pool FREE of Charge!Resident ID cards will be required for Free admittance. All guests must have passes and be signed in by a resident.
