Berkeley Heights - Food drive set for Saturday, May 12 - 05/04/07 12:06 AM
BERKELEY HEIGHTS -- On Saturday, May 12, letter carriers in the township will be doing more than delivering the mail -- they'll be picking up food along their postal routes in the national "Stamp Out Hunger" food drive to help feed America's hungry.
Postal patrons are asked to leave a sturdy bag containing non-perishable foods (no glass jars please) next to their mailboxes prior to the time of regular mail delivery.  When the letter carrier comes by on his or her delivery route, the food will be collected and taken back to the postal station, and the Community FoodBank of New Jersey … (0 comments)
