Need A Little Extra Push - You Need To Check This Out - 02/21/07 01:46 AM
Yesterday I received an email from a friend of mine that had a movie attached called 212* - The Extra Degree.  My friend knows I love to read (or watch) things that help to motivate and inspire me and thought I'd really like this short movie.  He was right.  This was a great movie that talks about the difference in being good and being great.  Many times people are so close to becoming great, but don’t make that last extra effort to push them over the top.
My favorite quote from the film was “To get what we’ve never had, we must … (21 comments)

What Are You So Afraid Of? - 02/19/07 10:10 PM
OK, so I've gotta vent a little bit.  Last week I received a lead from our clientcare system with my company.  They handle all the online inquiries when clients aren't on an agent-specific web site.  The lead was emailed to me on Friday evening at around 7:00pm.  The customers wanted to get in and see a couple houses on Saturday afternoon.  I pre-qualify over the phone, but told them that I didn't know if I could get us in on that short of notice, but I would try and call them back.  Well it turns out one of the houses was … (6 comments)

Field Of Dreams - Clarksville Indiana Little League - 02/16/07 10:20 AM
Some of the best memories from my childhood come from playing baseball. I remember having practice at St. Marys of the Knobs. I remember putting my uniform on about six hours before game time just because the anticipation was killing me. I remember hitting a home run against one of my best friends to win a game. I remember the whole team getting in the back of Mike Anderson's beat-up red Chevy truck and going to Berry Twist so he could buy us all ice cream. I smile every time I have one of these memories.Today I am a resident of … (3 comments)

This Isn't Hollywood - 02/15/07 05:44 PM
It seems like every time I turn on the television there is a new "reality" show about real estate. There are a couple of shows that stand out as shows dealing with buying run-down properties, fixing them up and then selling them for a profit. If you haven't already guessed, I'm talking about Flip This House on A&E or Flip That House on TLC. Both of these are usually excellent entertainment as I find myself anxiously waiting to see if they are going to make the deadline or keep it under budget or how much money they make.Notice I used the … (26 comments)

Climbing The Mountain...Start At The Base - 02/09/07 02:28 PM
Picture your business as a mountain.  What do you think would be the base of the mountain?  If you ask the most successful Realtors from all across the country where most of their business comes from, I'd bet almost all of them would say referrals.  How do they do it?
Referral business is the best business you can have.  They usually are much easier to work with since they know someone who has worked with us already and was successful.  They have a sense of comfort that they may not have with someone they've never heard of and don't know anything about.
Referral … (16 comments)

Smiles Worth Much More Than Commision - 02/01/07 11:41 PM
When I was a child my mother would say to me, "Money isn't everything.  Just because you have money, that alone does not entitle you to happiness.  If you find a career doing something that you enjoy, you will be a much happier person and have a much better life."
Now I don't try to hide the fact that as a teenager I really wasn't the best of students.  I don't know why, but I never seemed to understand the ramifications of my decisions and of course, if I could go back and change some things, I would.  Notice I only said … (3 comments)
