TAX CREDIT CAN BE USED FOR DOWN PAYMENT Just finished reading the news about new announcement from HUD's secretary. In short the First Time Home Buyers will be eligible to use the available 8K tax credit toward their new house purchase as a down payment. That is great news for a lot of new buyers who are waiting to make a decision if they should act now or perhaps wait... For the last few days it looks like the "staleness" started getting some life. And what do I mean by that? My phone started ringing to schedule showings and few buyers want to know more information about the properties and financing...Is this just because of the weather being kissed by few sunshiny days or we are getting into a prelude of change?
This kind of action looks really promising. And I believe a lot of us are ready to start being Realtors in the full sense of this title.
What about other markets? Have you noticed any change?

You probably will agree with me that the last few weeks were a little hectic for all of us. But it is time to catch up and get up to speed.
What is happening in real estate nationally is affecting all of us. Markets and economy are in such turmoil. There is a lot of uncertainty and questions about the present and what the future will bring. So far we haven't heard any clear and straight answers. There is lots of brainstorming, debating and finger pointing.

All around we are bombarded with the information about "doom and gloom" of our housing market and the financial fiasco of the banking and lending giants. The very first question which comes to my mind - why all of these "news" are suddenly showing up now and with such urgency attached to them? What happened in the meantime? How come we haven't heard anything about it in the previous months?
