My take on the Bold Fresh Tour! - 01/31/10 08:46 PM
Okay, here's the rundown on the Bold Fresh Show.In a word ~ Awesome Comedy!!I apologize in advance because I'm not real good at this.  I hope I can give a good idea of what the show was like.I showed up half hour early, and found a parking spot in the mall area.  Walked to the theater in the drizzle.  Did I mention I just had my car washed on Saturday?Got my ticket and went to the theater #9 where the Bold Fresh was playing.Found a seat near some cool folks.  That would have been just about anywhere in the show.  Lots … (14 comments)

The Bold Fresh Tour - 01/30/10 03:58 PM

I'm going to the Bold Fresh Tour tonight.

Can you imagine Glenn Beck and Bill O'Reilly on the same stage together?
I can't afford tickets at the Sun Dome in Tampa, and what was left were nosebleed seats starting at $65.00.  I have a confession to make.  Not only am I afraid of heights, I'm cheap to boot.  (I paid $95 to see Celine Dion in 97' at the Ice Palace in Tampa - nosebleed seats and total fear factor to boot... promised myself never to do that again).
So, I sprang for $25 to see … (22 comments)

Glenn Beck - #2 Favorite TV Personality! - 01/26/10 09:50 PM
Oprah Winfrey was named the #1 favorite TV personality by the Harris Poll.  She has consistently been in the top five since 1993.  and has been No. 1 for five years (2002-2006).  She dropped to No. 2 in 2007 and No. 4 in 2008. The big surprise this year is that Glenn Beck, was named #2.  I repeat ... Glenn Beck was named #2.   He's never been on the list in the past. That's a heck of a jump. The rest of the list, in descending order: Jay Leno Ellen DeGeneres Hugh Laurie Jon Stewart Charlie Sheen Mark Harmon David … (41 comments)

The Older Crowd - 01/26/10 09:06 PM
I always talk about how cool it is living in a retirement community.  Older folks are pretty cool and they have a great sense of humor. Best of all, they share their comedy with friends.  I keep in touch with all my buyers and they just love my sense of humor, and find a need to send me all kinds of jokes and comics.  I love sharing them with you all. Enjoy! Pants on the ground - For Wallace Gibson - - - UPDATED1 - 01/24/10 10:05 AM
At the request of Wallace Gibson, I am posting "Pants On The Ground".  I saw a clip of this on Fox the other night and laughed.  But, the full video is really funny.
Wallace, made mention of the videos, but she didn't know how to post the videos.  So, being the gentleman that I am, I found the two videos she mentioned, and here they are.
The first one is the American Idol version with Larry Platt who is 62 years old.

Texas Is At It Again! UPDATE! - 01/21/10 07:48 PM

I thought this blog would be worthy of a re-blog for many good reasons.  While I don't exactly agree with the blog (I lived in Texas for 5 years and have a strong bond with Texas and Texans), I thought it should be put out there some more.

Have we been stretched too far? - 01/19/10 10:50 PM
This is too funny!  I couldn't help myself from posting this.  On this day when Scott Brown caused a huge blowout in Mass. Imagine my joy when I came upon this video. This video gave me a thought of how Barry must be feeling with his ass blowing in the wind. Sometimes, when you least expect it, the bottom can fall out of all your hard work. What was it Dolly Parton used to say?  Like trying to put 10 pounds of potatoes in a 5 pound sack. We the People have reached our breaking point and this Administration is about … (18 comments)

Haiti earthquake caught on tape! - 01/16/10 01:18 AM
Looking through all the information on the Haiti earthquake I came across this video.
It's a pretty shocking video.
When you see the severity of the movement of the ground and the crumbling building in the background, you can't imagine the forces of nature involved that could cause this.
I can't imagine how frightening it had to be to experience this type of devastation.
Pray for the survivors still stuck in the wreckage.
God Bless the poor souls that perished.

Thos hateful chain emails! - 01/14/10 12:52 PM
Don't you just love those forwarded email chain letters that go around the internet.  Those dang things travel for years and just keep recirculating.
I received the following chain email recently, but this one has a twist.
I'm sure some of you have already seen this, and it may be 10 years old, but I wanted to share with those folks that haven't.  It's worth the good laugh it brings.

CBS investigates Climate Delegation - 01/13/10 06:25 PM
With the U.S. wanting to have a presence at the Copenhagen Climate Summit, there comes a cost. Many in Congress got an all received all-expense paid trips to Denmark on your dime. Some even brought their families. An investigative report by CBS correspondent Sharyl Attkisson reported that House Speaker Pelosi called the shots as to who got to go.
The peice is titled -

The Kennedy Family Seat - 01/13/10 09:21 AM
Is this guy NUTS, or what?   The idea that Scott Brown had the balls to claim the seat held by Teddy Kennedy belonged to "THE PEOPLE" shows just how crazy the "Right" has become.  How dare he!  This Kennedy Family Seat has been bought and paid for by the Kennedy family for generations or at least 56 years.  The idea that he question who that seat belongs to is just ludicrous!
"It's The People's Seat."
My take ~ If the People of Massachusetts don't want him, maybe they can send him to the White House.  Footnote... the seat held … (28 comments)

A Presidential Christmas - 01/12/10 12:35 AM
I don't even know what to say about this one.  This email I recieved is a real eye opener.  Just a few points to ponder... How many military people were refused leave during the Christmas Holiday because the First Family went on vacation to Hawaii? How many civilian workers were denied vacation because of the President's travel plans.  Now, just for the heck of it, take a wild guess - How many Secret Service people got screwed out of family time on Christmas day because they had to travel with the President. How many children didn't get to see Daddy or … (25 comments)

Sarah Palin and the Tea Party Convention! - 01/11/10 09:14 PM
Sarah Palin has agreed to headline the first-ever Tea Party Convention.
The convention will be held in Nashville and is scheduled to begin Feb 4, 2010.
This should really send the liberals and Palin haters into a frenzy. Apparently, she has rejected an invitation to speak at the annual Conservative Political Action Conference.   This too has eyebrows raised.  Some believe she is sending a message - possibly to claim a segment of the conservative movement as her own.
That could well be.

Schwarzenegger slams Obamacare! - 01/10/10 11:15 PM
Fox New's Greta Van Susteran had this interesting video about the Healthcare Bill and big grumbling from the Calif governor.  Is Gov Schwarzenegger about to pull the rug out from under the Healthcare bill?  He was all for it, and now he's not only against it, he is advising his delegates to vote against it.  Could it be that he just wants the same sweetheart deal that Nebraska got? I agree with him when he says "Nebraska got the
corn and California got the husk".

Winter comedy - 01/10/10 10:32 PM
With all the cold blanketing the country, I thought this would help to ease the pain of being so cold.  After all, don't they say humor warms the heart and heals the soul?  Or something like that.  This brought a good chuckle to me and did indeed warm my heart.  Just remember to keep your tongue off the frozen flagpole and by all means don't eat the yellow snow.

A Message of Love - 01/10/10 10:05 PM

I received this story in an email about 6 months ago and saved it. Cleaning up some of the files in my computer tonight, I found it again.  I read it and remembered why I kept it.  It had brought tears to my eyes back then and again tonight I found my eyes welling with tears.  I don't know who wrote the story or whether it is based on any true facts, but sometimes the message is what really counts.  This is a message that I feel should be told over and over.  I hope you pass it on to … (5 comments)

How's this for Nostalgia? - 01/08/10 04:49 PM
Here's a great nostalgia email I received from my cousin.  Funny thing is we were at a family reunion a couple years ago and reminicsed about quite a few of these items.  I've made the print very large and bold because if you remember these things, chances are your eyes are not quite as sharp as they should be.  Enjoy the flashback!  If you don't remember any of these things, you sure missed a good time growing up.  Print it out for your parents. Have fun with this.

Glenn Beck - still hanging in there - 01/07/10 09:54 PM
For more than a year I have been hearing just how bad Fox News is.  It's filled with haters.  It's not real news.  Then came Glenn Beck.  This sent the left into a tail spin.  They thought they had him when they boycotted his show back in August 2009  for stating that he "believes" obama is a racist.  Even though he lost some supporters, his show continued to thrive.  I had to post this ratings race chart so that we could see just how bad his show is doing.  CABLE NEWS RACE WEDS., JAN 6, 2010 FOXNEWS O'REILLY 3,919,000 FOXNEWS HANNITY … (30 comments)

The Decline: The Geography of a Recession - 01/04/10 08:53 AM
I received an email the other day, and it had a link to this video. It charts the unemployment rate from Jan 2007 to October 2009. The original link from the email is here http://cohort11.americanobserver.net/latoyaegwuekwe/multimediafinal.htmlThere was a link to youtube, and I clicked it and here it brought me to the same video. Much easier than trying to find it. It's pretty much an eye opener. I also found this other video with a narration, which I thought was pretty interesting.

Maho Beach, St. Maarten - 01/01/10 04:11 PM

While on my Blue Christmas visit to the Caribbean, I visited St. Maarten and while there, I took a tour of the island.  I don't do the "tours" provided by the ships very often.  Instead, I prefer to catch a taxi and request specific locations from a list of places I have selected myself.  Most times the drivers will oblige.  On this trip, I shared a taxi with a wonderful couple from Canada.  We had a really nice time.  I specifically asked to be taken to Maho Beach where you get a close up of planes landing and taking off.  … (14 comments)
