Biggest, most productive change you have made? - 01/26/07 06:50 AM
Fellow Real Estate Agents,
Sometimes the inflow of information on how to change your business to increase your business is overwhelming.
WHAT IS THE BIGGEST, MOST PRODUCTIVE CHANGE YOU HAVE MADE IN THE LAST TWO YEARS THAT HAS INCREASED YOUR BUSINESS, BROUGHT YOU MORE CLIENTS?
Was it joining the latest website or joining of the real estate blogs, optimizing your search engine?
I'm sure myself and lots of other realtors out there would like to get a poll going to see what was the best change that you made.
PLEASE REPLY!  Thank you.

Corporate website traffic - 01/18/07 07:21 PM
Now that I've joined active rain I am finding more and more good information everyday.
ZThere is one thing I am still confused on however. In the corporation that I work for you are not allowed to have a personal website. In this case how would you direct more traffic to your personal address on the "corporate" site or on realtor.com?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

FORECLOSURES ARE RISING - 01/12/07 03:30 PM
Just out of curiosity I took a look at what has been happening with foreclosures in the Pocono market. Needless to say the rate of foreclosures is rising. That means it's still a good time for investors and fix-and-flippers.
Back in 2004 there were 285 foreclosures listed for sale. That number went up to 319 in 2005 and for 2006 the number rose to 411. This was just for Monroe County.  Is everyone seeing a rise in their amount of foreclosures?
These numbers are unsettling to me and to many others I am sure.
Will these foreclosures cause the value of all our … (0 comments)

Pocono gambling and real estate - 01/09/07 07:11 AM
Well, gambling is on its way to the Poconos. We all have heard the expression "with good comes the bad". So I have to wonder, and possibly those of you who live in an area where gambling has arrived can tell me, what affect will gambling have on the real estate market? We have heard all kinds of surmising - oh, its going to be great - it will be the downfall of the Poconos - etc. etc., but what will really happen.  Many of my sellers insist that their property values are going to go up while others want to … (4 comments)

500 SCARVES FOR NEEDY FAMILIES FOR THE HOLIDAYS - 01/06/07 07:04 PM
On November 28th I came up with the idea that I wanted to do something special for the Holidays this year and came up with the idea of making scarves. I can crochet and thought this might be something that people would need and enjoy for the Holidays.  Fortunately our local newspaper picked up on what I was doing and ran an article about it in the paper.  Well, you should have seen the community response.  It was absolutely wonderful. We received loads of yarn and many, many people knitted or crocheted or purchased a scarf to add to the donation. … (0 comments)

Disappearing Buyer - 01/03/07 06:04 PM
Could use some advice. What do you do in the case of the missing buyer. This transaction has been under contract for two months and everything proceeded just fine until about one week before closing. The buyer just disappeared. He is not returning the phone calls of his attorney, his mortgage company or his Realtor.  Needless to say my clients have already packed and quit their jobs in anticpation of the move to another state, have already moved half their items. What do you do in the case of the missing buyer? … (7 comments)
