In the northern counties of the Poconos (Wayne and Pike) the colors will be peaking very soon.
In the lower counties of the Poconos (Monroe and Carbon) we have about a week or two.

This Maple Tree currently has orange-yellow leaves.  Within a week or two these leaves will be the brighest yellow and it will be the most beautiful tree ever. You would not think that leaves could get this yellow.

Ideas Make The World Go Round - Isn't that the solid truth.  This post stresses the importance of ideas, our creativity, our ability to come up with a "better" way of doing things.  So many times I hear the expression "if it ain't broke don't fix it" Baloney. THE POCONO ABSORPTION RATE YTD 2011 - 09/06/11 11:48 AM

The Absorption rate for Pocono Homes for sale within Monroe County continues to climb.  We did see a leveling during June and July as illustrated above.
Personally I had anticipated seeing the Absorption rate go down for July and August but I did not get what I wanted. I know - Big Surprise - given the Economy.
However, in reading other blogs here on Active Rain regarding the Absorption rate in other areas of the Country I am seeing areas where their Absorption rates are dropping so it is only a matter of time before ours do too given our … (0 comments)

POCONO MARKET STATISTICS FOR AUGUST 2011, RESIDENTIAL HOMES - 09/05/11 05:01 PM
Well, here we are. One of the busiest months of summer.  AUGUST. The number of homes sold for the month certainly reflect this month.  The number of sales for the Month was up 6%.  We went from 129 sold last year for the month of August to 138 sold this year for the month of August.  Love to see Good News!
 

The average sale price of homes sold for the Month of August was $150,000 for 2011, down 9% from August 2010 which was $165,000 - VERY BAD NEWS.

Two big things come to mind this weekend (shows how short my memory is these days - only 2 things come to mind (haha))
THE WEST END FAIR AND THE GARLIC FESTIVAL.

The West End Fair is held in Brodheadsville (what I call Brodheadsville, actual address is Gilbert) and you can click on the link for the details to this good time.
The Pocono Garlic Festival is renowned and this is their 17th Annual Festival.  Everyone just raves about this festival.  For those who love/can eat Garlic I hear the food is just fabulous so check it out.
