Signs in the Forest - You Never what You Will Find! During early September 2016 we were very lucky to travel from Katy TX to both Germantown NY and New York City. One morning we all took a hike in the woods that surround our friends two homes. Many Reasons to Love Living in Katy, TX There are numerous reasons why numerous folks love to live in Katy, TX. Katy is made up of old or historic Katy which is a old city dating back to the 1890’s and a very large unincorporated geographic area made up of numerous neighborhoods. As a generality Katy and the surrounding areas are approximately 25-35 miles west of Downtown Houston depending on where exactly you live.

Buc-ee's Planning to Build Major Travel Center in Katy TX Buc-ee's which owns several major travel centers spread across the state of Texas is planning to build a Travel Center right here in Katy, TX. The Center will be built on the northwest corner of Cane Island Parkway and Interstate I-10. Construction could begin during the summer of 2016 with estimated completion date of summer 2017.

Saturday May 21, 2011 an open car show will be held in the Firethorne Community parking lot from 10 AM until 3 PM which is located at 28100 North Firethorne Rd. Katy, TX. The proceeds from this car show will be used by the Project Grad event from Katy High School. Project Graduation 2011 will be held on June 4, 2011 at Katy High School and will run from 11PM until 6 AM. There is limited parking for this event and my advice is to go early. Grand Lakes subdivision in Katy Texas will ne a busy place on Saturday April 16, 2011 as there be a neighborhood garage sale taking place from 7:00 AM - 2:00 PM. The sale will occur at residents homes as well as the Spring Walk Park or Rock Slide Pool. HEB grocery store will open a new store in the under construction commercial development named "Katy Main Street" sometime it is rumored during August 2010. I expect a grand opening and festivities similar to those when the HEB at Fry opened a few years ago. The new store is located at I-10 and Pin Oak. On July 2 my wife and I celebrated our anniversary and we went to one of our favorite places in the entire world being the Lost Pines Hyatt Resort in Bastrop, TX. Another of a long line of advantages to living in Katy is that you are close to many interesting places to go to in the State of Texas including Austin, San Antonio, the Texas Hill Country plus several other really neat destinations. All of you who watched the US beat Algeria 1-0 the other day had a special treat in my opinion. What a special game and how about that US goal in 91 st minute of play!!! Talk about an exciting game. The US during entire second half had one wave after another of offensive surges and Algeria had a few quick counterattacks that made this game really exciting. Last Friday night my family eat dinner at Da Vinci's Restaurant which is at the corner of Center Village Dr. and Fry Road ( at one entrance of Grand Lakes). Their exact address is 6455 S. Fry Rd. and phone is 281-392-2115. There have been at least two other restuarants at this location during this past year ( if not more) and those ventures all failed. The food each of us had was excellent. Seven Lakes boys varsity basketball team was beaten this past Tuesday evening by Yates 88 to 74. The game was played in front of a big crowd of over 2,500 fans at the Merrill Center in Katy. Many folks reading this are saying to themselves " So What.. Seven Lakes lost by 12 points.. Big Deal!!! However, Yates is currently ranked the number one High School Boys team in the ENTIRE US by Maxpreps Freeman Rankings and is ranked number 4 in the nation by Max Preps Xcellent 25.
