Shawnee Mountain's first summer festival for the year is May 29 & 30!  It is the Celtic festival, and it's a great way to spend Memorial Day weekend in the Poconos! They'll have 3 stages of music all day, Irish step dancers who are amazing to watch, food and crafts! Head to Shawnee Mountain, in Shawnee-on-Delaware, and enjoy one of the summer's first festivals in the beautiful Pocono Mountains!

PEEC, Pocono Environmental Education Center, is celebrating Earth Day this Saturday the 24th, from 10am-4pm! The cost is only $5 per car, so carpool with your friends!  There will be learning stations, vendors specializing in Green Building, crafts, music, food and more! It's a great way to spend your Saturday with friends and family, while learning ways to help reduce your environmental footprint! The Pocono Environmental Education Center is located in Dingsman Ferry, and is within the borders of the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area. Take advantage of our nice, sunny weather tomorrow!

Saturday, June 12, Rusted Root will be entertaining a full house, I'm sure, at Penn's Peak. They released a new album last year, and this is part of their extended tour! Always an entertaining show, this Pennsylvania band is sure to prove it's entertaining factor once again! They've toured with Grateful Dead, Dave Matthews Band and others! World Trade Center Convoy Transport thru Stroudsburg - 04/14/10 12:42 PM
Today, there was a 28 truck convoy passing through Stroudsburg on Rt 80, transporting steel from the World Trade Center back to its manufacturer in Coatesville, PA.  Civic leaders there are proposing a new National Iron and Steel Heritage Museum.  We walked up from our office to the overpass and watched this proud procession drive through. Each flatbed truck had a piece of the steel, and most had an American flag draped across it, or the trucks themselves had flags displayed. It was really a great sight, yet at the same time, eerie.  Below are a couple pictures we snapped from the overpass.

April 22nd at 8pm, the Sherman Theater in Stroudsburg is hosting Papa Roach! Tickets are only $17! Papa Roach has sold over 10 Million records, with a new live album being released this year. ESU students living on-campus can get discounted tickets, too! The Sherman Theater is a part of Stroudsburg history, located right on Main Street. It was completed in 1928 and has been through many changes, owners and businesses, but is now a staple in the community, hosting many great concerts, benefits and concerts!
