It finally looks like Spring is upon us! Aside from today's warmer weather, we're also expecting gorgeous weather all weekend and into next week. And by gorgeous I mean in the 80's! There is so much to do here in the Pocono Mountains as the weather gets nicer! Keller Williams will be Marching for Babies tomorrow morning at ESU. We've been raising money to support premature babies all year...it's an annual walk we participate in.  Come support us, join us or watch us! It starts at ESU at 10am!

On February 17, 2009, President Obama signed the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009.  What this $780 Billion package means to you as a home buyer:
- An $8,000 tax credit for first time home buyers (or upto 10% of the purchase). This primary residence purchase must occur between January 1 and December 1, 2009. It does NOT have to be repaid, either, if you don't sell within 3 years!

So, the other night I decided to head to one of our local restaurants in Marshalls Creek, Alaska Pete's, for some dinner.  An easy drive on Route 209 from exit 309 off Route 80, it's a great steakhouse and seafood restaurant.  The atmosphere is very inviting, and the nice warm fire took the chill out of the air, since it was a breezy 10 degrees in the Poconos that night!! Anyone traveling into the Poconos from the East surely has seen the Welcome Center in Delaware Water Gap, just off Route 80's Exit 310.  This 12,700 square foot building was just built and opened in 2006, replacing a 50 year old building. Good Morning on this cold day in the Poconos. Our two winter storms over the weekend provided about 12" of snow! The town and surrounding area look so beautiful with the snow for the Holidays. It looks like we will enjoy a White Christmas this year in the Pocon Region and all of Monroe County.

Today the Pocono Mountains are expecting 5-10" of snow! Shawnee and Camelback Ski Areas, as well as all the other ski areas in the Poconos, are gearing up for a great weekend of skiing!  East Stroudsburg, Stroudsburg, Pocono Mountain and Pleasant Valley Schools and most activities are cancelled, so grab your skis and head to the mountains! Be careful driving!  Here's a picture of what it currently looks like out there...

poconos: Interest Rates at All Time Low! - 12/18/08 06:11 AM
Todays blog relates to the historic move yesterday by the Federal Reserve Bank. The FED reduced their key benchmarh lending rate to a target of 0% to .25%, numbers never seen in history. This was a larger than expected and highly unusual move to help the economy. The FED also stated that they will use "all available tools" to help the economy rebound. Additionally, the FED's statement said it will extend credit to households and small business beginning next year.
