I get this question from buyers a lot. Many are under the misconception that if there is no buyers agent then the listing agent will reduce their commission. Wrong!
*If there is no listing agent the buyers agent has more work to do.
*The deals are harder to close. Once they get in to the situation they tend to not want to listen to any advice the agent gives since he is "just trying to sell them a house".

Over the past week or so I have been following a couple of threads on Zillow and Trulia posted by potential home buyers who want to know where to start on the home buying process. The answers from Realtors is almost universally the same .... talk to a lender and get pre qualified for your purchase. I must respectfully disagree!
