Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac give the ‘go-ahead' to resume sales of foreclosed homes
WASHINGTON - Nov. 29, 2010 - Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac gave the go-ahead this week to restart sales of their foreclosed properties, which had been on hold since September when it was revealed that flawed or fraudulent court documents may have been used to repossess homes.Brokers received memos Wednesday from the government-sponsored enterprises saying that the homes could once again be marketed and sales finalized on properties already under contract. Fannie Mae's letter explains that evictions and lockouts are still suspended on its properties. In South Florida, the … (0 comments)

Boca Raton High School Charter Conversion is Rejected by Teachers and Parents - 11/12/10 11:59 AM

There were lots of issues last year and at the beginning of this year concerning where the Palm Beach County School Board was going.  They hired an outsider who tried to change to the "One Size Fits All" plan and the superintendent Art Johnson received so much heat that the "nameless" person was reassigned to a different position.
All of these issues began talk of the entire city of Boca Raton's School System to try and go Charter, but after calming down there was only one school that decided to actually try to convert to a Charter School and … (0 comments)

Happy Veteran's Day! Who Want's Free Food? - 11/11/10 02:22 PM

Some restaurants are getting into Veteran's Day by offering free food for those people who are Veterans or are in the active duty military.  Must show ID.
I commend these restaurants, and the amount of positive publicity is through the roof.  I just hired my first person who was in the active Army and now is in the reserve.  She has been a huge asset thus far, and was very excited to hear that Applebees and Chilis were offering free lunch and dinners.

City of Boca Raton raise concerns over annexation proposal! - 11/09/10 08:35 AM
The City of Boca Raton was proposed to annex several luxury communities including:  St. Andrews Country Club, Newport Bay, Fieldbrook, Boniello Acres, the old Royal Palm polo fields, Le Lac, Boca Grove Plantation, Mediterrania, the Boca Golf & Tennis Club and Costco.
Although it would bring in nearly 3 million in taxes it would cost 3.6 million to support those communites including signs, fire/police and city services.  Right now those communities are in unicorporated Boca Raton and use the Counties Services.
The numbers do not add up and they have decided against annexing those communities.

Someone At BofA Needs To Read This...Matt Vernon, Are You Out There? - 11/09/10 08:27 AM
What a phenomenal Blog Post.  It is unfortunate that many banks do as I say not do as I do.  I know it is a difficult and complicated problem by the sheer numbers, but if you start with the attitudes of the employees from the top you may see results.  So many times when calling Bank of America or Suntrust the people on the other end are just rude or impolite.  We all have the same objective and that is to work something out.  I too have spoken to Matt Vernon several times, and although I do believe it certainly has … (4 comments)

What Does Being Aware of Food Allergies have to do With Real Estate? - 11/08/10 01:12 PM

Those that have read my blog know that I have a 5 year old girl named Emma who has many allergies including wheat, egg, sesame, peanut, tree nuts, & shellfish  It is a very scary thing to go through when you are a parent and you find out that your child has allergies.  I never had allergies and quite honestly did not believe in them.  I thought like many people think that they were made up or it was just something to say to get the waiter or waitress to substitute.
Obviously I think differently today.  We had an allergy … (6 comments)

Ocean Strand Park in Boca Raton Still not Zoned a Park! - 11/02/10 01:11 PM
Many of the city of Boca Raton residents have been lobbying for the City of Boca to rezone the land labeled as Ocean Strand on AIA in South Boca as a "Park".  Their fear is that another developer like the one in July of this year will get closer to finalizing a deal to build a beach club or another residential structure.  It is currently zoned residential.  The city is at a stalemate, and said they cannot change the zoning until they have a master plan.  Hopefully this becomes a park and continue the great greener pastures of the City of … (0 comments)

Hava for The House District 87 - 11/01/10 03:56 PM
you
As many of you know, tomorrow is the day where we decide who is going to be our voice going forward.  I wanted to bring attention to a very special individual that we have the unique opportunity to vote for.  Her name is Hava Holzhauer.  She is running for state representative in district 87.
I have known Hava for many years and although I am a registered Republican and she is a registered Democrat my endorsement of her is for the character of her.  She is an assistant state prosecutor and she fights for the people.  Yes that may be … (0 comments)
