Graduation Day.  A dear friend of mine has a daughter who is graduating on Friday from High School.  Its hard to believe. Flood Watch 2011, Utah.   A year of record snowfall and rain have left many people in Utah worried about the yearly snow melt and potential flooding.  People have been sandbagging for about a month in preparation for the big thaw.  The big thaw has yet to happen for most areas.

Salt Lake County Condo Market Recap:  Below is a recap of the condo market in Salt Lake County over the last two weeks.  The absorption rates are staggering.  For the price range of up to 99,000 only 26 condos sold in the last two weeks and the absorption rate is currently at 6 months. wow  That same rate of 6 months holds for the 100,000- 199,999 price range with the bulk of the listings found in this bracket.   The highest absorption rate peaks at 12 months  in the 300,000- 399,999 price range. Lagoon: Utah's version of Disneyland.  OK, I will have to admit it has taken me almost 9 years to go to Lagoon.
For anyone not familiar with Lagoon, it is an amusement park that features roller coasters, a water park and all different levels of rides for the entire family.  It is located in Farmington, Utah which is about 40 minutes from where we live in Sandy, Utah.  The park is open to different venues, events, (my daughters dance team, Studio 56 dance has had a competition there before) school events and they even have a campground for those who love … (3 comments)

Count to 3 before you drive on a green light here in Salt Lake.  A word of warning to visitors and people relocating to Utah.  PEOPLE RUN RED LIGHTS HERE ALL THE TIME.  Now I'm sure most of you will say it happens everywhere but this place really is crazy.  I see it all day everyday for the last 8 years.  Its really unbelievable and they don't just do it when they think no one is looking, there is no rhyme or reason.  I've seen multiple instances where red lights get blown thru and their is a police

Salt Lake County Market Recap for May 2011.  To sum it all up, there are a lot of homes for sale! There are a lot of homes that are expiring.  The majority of the inventory is in the 200,000 - 299,999 price field.  I have been previewing homes in this price range for months now for my current buyers.  While there are a lot of homes for sale in that price range, so many of them are in horrible condition or just plain dirty!  Advice to sellers, if you have homes for sale priced in that price point, clean your home, … (1 comments)

As I drive around it seems like the market is flooded with homes for sale so for kicks I pulled up that statistics to see whats going on out in the market. Some areas are still overwhelmed with homes for sale. City Creek Trail, Salt Lake City Utah.  Believe it or not we beat the rain storm today.  My mothers day has been great so far, started the day off with going to church then we came home ate some lunch and headed out for a hike.  This was the first time we've hiked the city creek trail, located close to the state capital.  It really was a great hike.  I'm not sure how far we went distance wise but we hiked for almost two hours.  It was beautiful and felt wonderful to get outside and enjoy time with my kids and … (3 comments)

Need a passport?  Sandy, Utah is now  your place as of May 2nd, 2011.  Starting now Sandy City is now able to accept passport applications  Monday - Friday 10-4pm at the city recorders office.

They are urging everyone to first visit www.travel.state.gov to learn about the process, documents needed, fees required and the steps you will need to take.  The website is the only place you can go and download forms.  So plan ahead.  Sandy City will charge a $25$ fee per passport  application as well as other fees for expediting the applications.  The city is also able to take passport photo's for $10/each … (1 comments)

Mothers Day in Salt Lake City, Utah.  Yep its May already and also mothers day this weekend. 
My kids asked me yesterday what I wanted to do for Mothers day and I told them go on a hike.

  I have been a blackberry user for years, but it was, time my blackberry died.  
As I worked my way through the Droid land, my first obstacle to over come were my fat fingers and how incredibly slow I became at texting/emailing on my phone.
 Next was "Now what do I do with all my text messages?"
