Listening and Kindness is where I am tonight! - 08/29/11 02:04 AM
Listening was all I could do today.
As Professionals, who truly care about the people we serve, there are times that when we hear from the family who truly cares, the one they care about may not feel like them.
As a Professional we have to stay emotionally outside to be objective.
That can be so hard.
We need to meet the need of the family member and be ready to meet the other need of the other family member.
This sounds more difficult than it is......it all boils down to being there and listening.

It doesn't seem to matter how many times I research personalities... - 08/29/11 01:49 AM
it's always a mystery to find the right way to communicate.  Friend, business associate, family or client it doesn't seem to matter what the personality is, when it comes to communication kindness and understanding are foremost.  We never know where the other has been or is in their emotional or mental state.  When we can reach out of our emotional mindset and be kind yet honest and gentle true communication can take place.
Sometimes if the other is not seeming to hear then maybe a little more emotion in the voice will help...and then maybe not...
We are all individual and … (2 comments)

Quick and brief...when we follow our own instruction we benefit far more than those we direct that instruction to!

Weatherizing ideas! - 08/28/11 03:39 PM
Weatherizing Your House for Savings Potential
60% Repair Heating Ductwork
According to the U.S. Department of Energy, homes with forced-air heating systems can lose as much as 60 percent of their heat through un-insulated, loose or poorly installed ductwork. That means more than half of your heat could be lost before it even reaches the register!
But before you start patching things up with duct tape, consider this: Duct-taped seams may be your problem. Since duct tape was introduced in the 1950s, the sticky silver rolls have developed a patch- anything reputation—and a loyal homeowner following. However, laboratory tests have proven … (0 comments)

Bringing cool to summer... - 08/27/11 08:11 PM
While many other Desert real estate agents hunker down and keep a low profile in the summer months, or travel north, we have been going full tilt!

One of the things we love about the Coachella Valley is its proximity to all the choice and diversity Southern California has to offer...two hours to the beach and San Diego.  Four hours to Las Vegas.  It’s a one hour drive to the cool mountain community of Lake Arrowhead.  If it’s year-round water activities you’re looking for, Lake Arrowhead’s got them all.  Skiing, boating, fishing with crisp clean air.

Then a … (5 comments)

Reasons to Sell Off Season! - 08/27/11 03:38 PM
This is “off Season” here in the California Desert...hot, hot, hot!
Good Reasons to Sell Now!
Fewer Showings, less buyers, but those buyers that are left are usually very serious about making a purchase. Less competition - Most people wait until “Season” to list their home, which means during the “off Season” you will have far less competition than the rest of the year. By getting a jump on the busy season you may be able to secure a higher price with less competition. Because of less competition your home will have more uptime on websites. Your “full time” agents will … (2 comments)

TIPS FOR SELLING! - 08/27/11 02:45 PM
Tips for Selling!
Clear away all unnecessary objects from furniture throughout the house.  Keep decorative objects on the furniture restricted to groups of 1, 3 or 5 items. Clear away all unnecessary objects from the kitchen countertops.  Clear the refrigerator exterior of messages, pictures, magnets. Rearrangement of furniture might be needed. The hidden is not really hidden!  Take the time to clean out closets, cupboards and drawers, as well as the garage. If you have a “space” problem invest in a short term storage unit.   During showings leave on certain lights and soft music is welcoming. During showings its best … (4 comments)

Selling your home? - 08/27/11 02:19 PM
"Staging" a home should be thought of as creating an appealing but neutral space that will allow buyers to see the potential of your home.  Naturally, it's difficult to look at your own home objectively; it's yours, after all.  So consider enlisting a professional home stager or hire a Realtor who is also a Stager to make your home the star of the show.
Remember, when you choose to put your home on the market it is no longer your 'home' it is now a 'product' that is for sale.
Here are some tricks to consider:
Staging is more about … (0 comments)

Where did the energy go? - 08/27/11 01:45 PM
How do you feel when you walk in your door after a few busy days of hard work and see your shoes, mail, newspapers, those unlooked at magazines or catalogs scattered around that you just “haven’t gotten to, but will”, things on the kitchen counter you haven’t put away, etc.?
Does it not just make you feel TIRED looking at it?  Why is that? Clutter in your home “draws” from your energy bank.  It is “matter” in your home that actually has a “vibration” to it...all that “static” of activity is going straight to your body and draining your energy.

What we appreciate about our clients! - 08/27/11 12:50 PM
The most obvious quality we all appreciate is loyalty.  But within the context of loyalty there should be some perimeter.  If I am not doing my job as a listing agent, i.e. staging guidance, professional photos, marketing, communicating, open houses, creative networking, making sure my listings have excellent exposure, and in short doing everything possible to sell their home, then I would not expect loyalty.  From a seller’s point of view if an agent is not doing all that should be done and after careful determination that they may be incapable of doing the job then for their best interest they … (2 comments)

Sell Right and Buy Now! - 08/10/11 11:21 PM
The only thing that is more frustrating than finding the perfect home for a buyer and helping them make the perfect market value price offer, knowing they would even move a bit...a bit...just a bit above and having the seller be unrealistic in this market place that you can't put the deal together.....is a seller you represent that doesn't listen to what the market is telling them...let alone you...and they continue to follow the market down.
Today we all know that we must stay positive and be so for all our clients as well as our friends and family.  We … (6 comments)

Summer is down time here...but Best time to Market your Home! - 08/04/11 01:58 AM
Inventory is LOW!
Here in the California Desert it is approximately 112-114 degrees and yet we are busy showing property to serious buyers and entertaining interested sellers...now is the time to list....the inventory is so low that the good homes on the market will catch the buyers who are serious about buying.  When they are here in this heat they want to buy and they will!
Call us Now.  We actually have buyers waiting to find the right home.  (FYI - we have a buyer looking for a home in Sun city Shadow HIlls approx. 2230 sq ft with a pool … (6 comments)

The Perfect "Dual" Agency! - 08/04/11 12:52 AM
Earlier I wrote about representing buyer and seller.  Asked for other's opinions.  This happens more often with "teams" that have multiple agents and it may not be looked upon as dual agency, but it is...even as it is with listing and selling agents both working for the same broker; which is dual agency to the broker.
I have been in the business, in and out, since the mid 1970's and so much changes and yet so little really changes.
Laws change, documents change and our adherance to both must be followed.  Ever since the mid 70's my ethics remain and continue … (10 comments)
