Renaissance Festival at GVSU ~ Grand Rapids Michigan - 10/17/08 04:08 PM
Grand Valley State University hosts an annual Shakespeare Festival and included in the month long festivities is the Rennaisance Festival. This is the only student run Renaissance Festival in the United States. It was held on GVSU homecoming weekend right on campus in Allendale, MI. I talked 'The Big Guy" into going with me and it was a blast!! The only way it would have been more fun is to be a student and dress up for the event.
There were about 50-60 costumed characters roaming around. You could have your friends and family arrested by the local sheriff and put in (8 comments)
Fallasburg Arts & Crafts Festival Update ~ A Michigan Fall Festival - 10/13/08 07:50 PM
The Fallasburg Arts & Crafts Festival was just a few weeks ago at the end of September. I published a post about it and I sure hope you got an opportunity to attend. It was a gorgeous weekend here in Western Michigan. We had temperatures in the high 70's and sitting in the sun, it felt more like 85 degrees. I will try to give you a synopsis of the Festival in case you didn't make it to this premier Arts & Crafts Festival here in Kent County. My brief video is a tour of some of the highlights:

Out Of Stocks and Into Real Estate? - 10/08/08 09:16 PM
This post by Mike in Tucson is very interesting. Isn't this what got us into this real estate mess in the first place. Everyone decided that the stock market was not making money after 9/11 and jumped into real estate with both feet?
Via Mike Jones (SUNSTREET MORTGAGE, LLC): This is an observation. It's not financial advice. I received a loan application from my website (www.mikeintucson.com) yesterday afternoon, and when I called the woman who applied for the purchase loan, she said this: "I'm getting out of the market, and I'm buying a rental property in the University [U of A] district." Fed Cuts Rates - Mortgage Rates NOT Dropping! - 10/08/08 09:13 PM
I am NOT a finance wizard and I find this current market mind blowing. Every day is an adventure. What will tomorrow bring? If you are like me, you check in with Eleanor, she seems to have a finger on the pulse. Via Eleanor Thorne, Cary Mortgage Loans: My email to friends this morning says, "LOCK 'EM IF YOU GOT 'EM!" GREAT OLE' BIG DISCLAIMER: We are in a little different situation than most of our competitors, because we can allow folks to float their rate down until a few days before closing. If you are working with a "bank" like Wells Fargo, of (0 comments)
Active Rain +1 Year = Local Real Estate Visibility on the Web - 10/08/08 08:24 PM
Since I am the author of many of TW's blogs, I am reposting this blog here. We have had a wonderful year here on Active Rain. Sometimes it has been stormy, sometimes the sun was shining through, but it has all been an absolute addicting good time. Yeehaa, who knows what year deuce will bring??
Via Terry Westbrook ~ Westbrook Realty Grand Rapids Forest Hills MI Real Estate (Westbrook Realty Broker-Owner): It is hard to believe it has been exactly one year since we first heard of this online community at the 2007 Michigan Association of Realtors Fall Meeting. We were (2 comments)
