The Corona City Council has approved a new program that would rebate Corona residents $2,000 for the purchase a new qualified Alternative Fuel Vehicle or $1,000 for a qualified used vehicle.To qualify, vehicles must be powered by Compressed Natural Gas, electric/battery or be a non-diesel hybrid and meet emission standards set by the California Air Resources Board. The City of Corona has just announced they will begin accepting applications on Monday, October 4, 2010 for the HOAP NOW I and HOAP NOW 2 down payment assistance programs.
HOAP NOW I is a first time homebuyers program that provides households with a down payment assistance loan equivalent to 20% of the purchase price of the property. The maximum amount of assistance that can be provided per household is $75,000.

If you have not gone to the Farmers Market yet, give it a try. It happens every Saturday from 8:30 am -12:30 pm at Main and Rincon at the Marketplace. There is a huge variety of locally grown produce at good prices. Come early for the best selection.
