annieandbob: mls compliant video - 04/06/08 09:44 AM
There's a great discussion going on Wellcomemat about mls compliant video.  Here's my take on it:
We just added a video (hosted by wellcomemat) to one of our listings out here in Minneapolis, MN (the local mls is RMLS). The rules we have are...any supplemental materials (text, pdfs, virtual tours, videos) cannot include branding or an outside link. The reason as I understand it is...broker reciprocity. Anyone participating in the local mls has agreed to share all of their listings with each other. So, Edina Realty, Coldwell Banker, REMAX, etc are more than happy to post listings from competing brokerages as long … (5 comments)

annieandbob: Annie and Bob Pacieznik - 04/04/08 11:04 AM
Annie and Bob Pacieznik: a name in real estate you might not be able to pronounce but can certainly trust.
That's our tag-line.  What else are you supposed to do with a name like Pacieznik, you've got to have some fun.  And speaking of fun...the activerain video contest 2008 has been a blast.  More importantly, it's been the push we needed to get into the real estate video game.
Annie and I are both Realtors who work and live in Edina, MN.  We wanted to make an entertaining video that included local residents messing up our last name.  What message were we trying to … (32 comments)

annieandbob: My new video magic tools - 04/01/08 11:09 AM
Maybe not the world's best ever....but it's certainly my best ever....Why am I so thrilled with my new video...it's thanks to my 2 new pieces of low cost equipment:  My new wide angle lense and my new steadycam.
Wide Angle Lense:  One of the problems of shooting video with a camcorder is that without a wide angle lense you need to do too much panning and scanning to see the whole room (and that can make the viewer dizzy)...so what's the solution?  Get a wide angle lense...I went to a local camera/video store and found out that I could get a wide angle lense (0.6mm) that could attach … (3 comments)

annieandbob: 'The Biggest Blunder of My Real Estate Career' - 03/31/08 08:58 AM
Recently I was contacted by a video marketing company, cgicommunication (elocallink) ,  that was selling ad space on a city, Chanhassen,  website.  The company is going to be producing videos for the city of Chanhassen, MN that are supposed to showcase the city.  One of the links on their video player will be labeled 'Real Estate and Relocation'.  This is where I could run an ad for about $2500 (or if I wanted them to produce a personalized video for my the fee would be closer to $5000).  The CGI salesperson told me to check out the City of Baton Rouge website to see … (11 comments)

Do you consider yourself a neighborhood real estate expert and a runner (but definitely not an expert runner).
The latest addition to our website and blogs is our sharing our running routes via mapmyrun.com.  Hey, it's something that we do anyway (running that its...but not enough though)...and it's a great way of showing that you live in the neighborhood and know more about it than most.  It's also a great way to add fresh content to your blogs...

annieandbob: Why aren't you using video? Joining the Real Estate 2.0 world. - 03/24/08 10:00 AM
I've been asking myself that question for the last year.  It's not like I'm not comfortable using the technology, it's just that...I guess I don't know why I haven't done this before...maybe I needed to do my research first, maybe I needed to see someone else use it first, maybe I needed the market to slow down to have the time to do it...whatever the reason is...I finally have added video to my online marketing program.
Take a look at our website:  http://www.annieandbob.com/
Here are the steps I used to add the video....
1.  Storyboard and Script the video (boy, this is the most … (14 comments)

annieandbob: Spring-time snowball fight! - 03/24/08 09:14 AM
First days of spring...what to do? Mow the lawn? Wash the car? Work the garden? How about build a snow fort and have a snowball fight! Wow...we haven't seen this much snow in a long while. Even though we've got a touch of cabin fever like everyone else, we wouldn't pass up enjoying the snow. We made a huge fort using the recycle bin...the snow was light and fluffy, but stuck together to make some great blocks and snow balls.Hope all of you had a great holiday weekend!Annie and Bob Pacieznikbrought to you by Annie and Bob Pacieznik "your Edina real … (1 comments)

annieandbob: Awesome northeast Edina neighborhood running routes - 03/16/08 08:31 AM
We live in Northeast EdinaWe work in Northeast EdinaWe RUNin Northeast Edina
Northeast Edina is a great neighborhood...one of the reasons that makes it so is the many great running routes that start in the neighborhood.  One of our favorite routes is the run up to Lake Harriet.  It's only 1.5 miles to the lake from our neighborhood and with a loop around Lake Harriet (2.75 miles) you've got a 5.75 mile round trip run.  Living this close to the chain of Minneapolis lakes is another reason why Northeast Edina is such a desirable neighborhood.
The route is scenic and makes for a … (2 comments)
