      <title>Ambitious Foreclosure Plan Revealed </title>
      <description>&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;This was in &quot;RISMEDIA&quot; this morning.&amp;nbsp; It's just the link but can be passed on to clients and friends.&amp;nbsp; It still sounds better than it is.&amp;nbsp; Most of the people who are upside down in there property are way above 5% so it doesn't help them.&amp;nbsp; I don't think it's punishment either way but when someone is that upside down and there having problems with making the payments it might be time to take the loss.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;1.&amp;nbsp; Of the people who have been saved in the last year it is my understanding that most of them are already in trouble again.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;2.&amp;nbsp; If your upside down and the bank reduces your payment by giving you a 40 year loan (which I think they would do before taking a loss off the top) your going to be WAY upside down.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;3.&amp;nbsp; From a lender stand point, and I'm no lender.&amp;nbsp; I would think that the cost of the foreclosure would more than make up for the difference when you look at the economic side of the loan.&amp;nbsp; If you foreclose you might lose 40%, if you take a hit up front and then extend the term to 40 years what is that money going to be worth to you in the end, not much I would think.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Just my thoughts on it.&amp;nbsp; I will continue trying to help every one out because no matter what in 5 years were going to look back with wise eyes and carry on.&lt;/p&gt;

      <title>Economic Stimulus package and the Military</title>
      <description>&lt;p&gt;This is from the Washington Post and I just wanted to pass it along in case someone has military clients out there that are in a less densely populated military area.&amp;nbsp; The economic stimulus package has a $555 million provision to help military members who are required to relocate.&amp;nbsp; You had to purchase your home before July 1st, 2006 to qualify but most people who are getting ready to relocate this year should fit into qualify.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Best of luck out there to all you hard charging stay in the game Realtors.&lt;/p&gt;

      <description>&lt;p&gt;Short Sales are like Beacon credit scores to most people.&amp;nbsp; They know what it is, some even have a really good idea of how it works, but it's still a mystery.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;I would like to say that the banks are trying to keep it a big secret, but I'm sure that's not the case.&amp;nbsp; Last year Loss Mitigation was one of the fastest growing job markets in the world, which should surprise to no one.&amp;nbsp; Think of the amount of training required and the learning curve these institutions are going through.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;

      <title>The Hazy days of Gray are over!!!!</title>

&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; My being sick allowed him to go on and on about how bad it was, I just listened and shook my head.&amp;nbsp; If there was a crowd I think some would have started crying it was so bad, I almost wanted to toss my license in the trash, go home to mope.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; I did go home, and I started pulling up statistics, this always makes me happy! (not)! well for the last 3 years not much has really changed, we have almost the same number of homes on the market, market time has gone up a little (about 20 days on average).&amp;nbsp; So what was the big deal.&amp;nbsp; If you took the prices out of it the market looks like it has been pretty steady so is it greed, or unfortunate circumstances?&amp;nbsp; I don't think it's unfortunate circumstance.&amp;nbsp; If you listen to economist back over time, they have always said that you need to stay in a house 7 years to break even.&amp;nbsp; You can change that by buying low and selling at a profit, or you can pay more on principle every month, or you can be patient and enjoy the tax benefit you get and the pride in customizing your own home.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; In the end as I realized this, the sun began to shine and my phone started to ring, I have buyers and I have sellers, it is my job to educate them and help them make sound financial decisions.&amp;nbsp; I am looking forward to a great year and I hope you all are too.&lt;/p&gt;

      <title>Spent the Day at the Portsmouth YMCA on Cedar Rd</title>
      <description>&lt;p&gt;If your looking for something to do, check out anyone of the Ymca's in the area.&amp;nbsp; Ours is on cedar Road right next to the brand New Library their building, they have a play ground, tennis courts, running track, 2 pools, Racquetball courts, weight rooms workout rooms, my wife's favorite, Some noodle twisting strength building ancient Chinese secret.&amp;nbsp; all is all is is set up very nice for a family, you can work out with the kids, swim wiTh the kids and then drop them off in one of the kid zones while you run, play&amp;nbsp;a sport, or just sit in the hot tub.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; the only thing that could top it off would be a walking bridge from Sterling point to the Library.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; Most people would -probably walk then cut down on allot of traffic.&amp;nbsp; We could have library readings like back in th eday but do them on my property's{3 acres surrounded by water, all old growth, its liked a very nice campground.&amp;nbsp; Just need bears!, a fire pit and logs to sit on for the evening reads.&amp;nbsp; If I get some interest I wii propose it to the city council, it would be free bring in take out and enjoy.&amp;nbsp; GI&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;3.&amp;nbsp; Permission to do it on my land or someone Else's that is close to Cedar and High.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; There are lots of kids wiTh nothing to do and there is a ton of stuff to do, lets capitalize on it.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;4&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; I want to start a BMX track here to, I am already working wiTh the ABA so that it can be sanctioned and I know enough builders and contractors that I think I could get the track built for close to nothing.&amp;nbsp; We just need the land.&amp;nbsp; Preferably 5 acres that we can put some big bumbs on, an announcers stand and audience stands, a bathroom and a snack bar.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;5.&amp;nbsp; Once the track is buillt and the ABA starts to advertise it on thier roster for the state we will pull in riders from all over VA,NC, Md, WV, and others.&amp;nbsp; the track is in the planning stages, I just need help with ideas to get safe fun places for are kids to hang out.&lt;/p&gt;

      <title>What to do in Chesapeake when it's cold</title>
      <description>&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp;If your looking for something fun to do in the cold in Western Branch (West Chesapeake), we took the kids out on Friday night to AMF Western Branch Lanes.&amp;nbsp; Very busy, lots of fun, we had to wait as we didn't know there was a call in list.&amp;nbsp; The time was easy though as we played a round of Miniature Golf.&amp;nbsp; The boys were good, me not so good, I am better with a Driver!&amp;nbsp; All in all a very good time, Staff was very helpful and the place was clean.&lt;/p&gt;

      <title>It's 4:03 am, and I'm so excited about 2009 I can't sleep</title>
      <description>&lt;p&gt;I know all the rest of you are snoozing away, but I feel like a kid going to the candy store, a felon getting out of prison, I can't explain it.&amp;nbsp; I am just more ready for the New Year than ever before.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Not sure if there resolutions, but Ideas I have for 09&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;1.&amp;nbsp; Quit reading the paper, it is starting to drag me down like everyone else&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;2.&amp;nbsp; Take 07 and 08 and act like they never happened, I'm coming off a killer 06 and running with the bulls!!!!&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;3.&amp;nbsp; Really work my business plan, I finally spent (Had the time unfortunately) to develop a very nice business plan for 09 and I'm going to stick to it.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;4&amp;nbsp; Brush the dust off all my old Zig Ziggler, and Brian Tracy cd's and start listening to them while I drive again.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; I might even buy some new ones.&amp;nbsp; Agent Mountain has free downloads of motivational stuff that I can download to mp3.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;5.&amp;nbsp; Work in some me time, I might have to get up at 4:00 every morning to do it, but I need it.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;1.&amp;nbsp; 5+ Acres in Chesapeake, preferably the Western Branch area as Greenbrier City park has talks of someday opening a park.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;3.&amp;nbsp; Lumber for an announcer booth&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;4.&amp;nbsp; Dirt, about 22,000 yards,&amp;nbsp; 80% Clay mixture&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;My name is Larry Betterton, I am the owner of Betterton Home Improvement.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;I would like to say thank you for trying to get help to those business owners who suffered such a terrible loss.&amp;nbsp; I can only speak for Betterton Home Improvement so I must limit what I can say:&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;As far as Betterton goes, we are a family run business: my wife, daughter, son, brothers all work with me and and most have been with me for the past 30 years.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The fire that started next to our business office did in fact take the entire building along with our&amp;nbsp; office and everything in it required to run a business, nothing is left but ashes and our faith in God.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;I just wanted to let it be known that we do have all of our people working and that not one of our customers jobs were left unattended for a single day.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;It will be a little while before our office can be rebuilt but in the mean time I still must keep everyone working.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;We are not asking or expecting anyone to help us, We only want to work and take care of our customers first.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;We are all happy that no one was injured, yet sadened by the fact that some of the companies (like us) were not insured.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;It will be costly to rebuild our business to the point that it was prior to the fire so, we need work and losts of it.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;All we ask is that people keep us in mind and allow us the prividgle to continue&amp;nbsp;providing their free estimates for home improvements.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;PORTSMOUTH, Va. (AP) -- Fire officials are investigating a blaze that destroyed six businesses in a Portsmouth strip mall.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;A Portsmouth fire department spokesman says the fire broke out around 3 a.m. Sunday at the strip mall on Tyre Neck Road.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;A gun shop and two hair salons were among the businesses destroyed.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The 25-year-old strip mall is owned by Marilyn Taylor, who built it with her late husband. Taylor says at least 50 people were employed by the businesses that were destroyed.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
