StatsCan released its mid-year national building permit figures, and Brampton's construction market is HOT, ranking 4th in Canada for total construction (across all sectors).
2nd - industrial development (up 179% for the same period last year)
3rd - residential development (up 121% for the same period last year)

While housing starts are down across the nation, the GTA, and Peel Region, Brampton city staff are reporting 32% and 11% increases, for the first 6 months and first 10 months of the year (vs the same period last year), respectively.
