belair humor: It's The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year - 08/23/08 06:34 PM
School is back in Session on Monday in Harford County and I'm feeling like I could star in a STAPLES commercial. You know the one. This year's first day of school is extra special for my family because of my soon-to-be Kindergartner -- and Kindergarten is FULL DAY. Life is good. If you're looking to buy in Bel Air and surrounds -- where the schools are awesome and grade K is full day (!) -- give me a call or drop me a quick line. I'm your Bel Air connection for finding just the right home for your family.

belair humor: REO - Take Everything That's Not Nailed Down (and some things that are)? - 08/21/08 10:29 PM
REO - Remove Every Option? I had to write about this one today. Unless you've been living in a cave, you're well aware of the housing crisis in most parts of the country. Here in lovely Bel Air, Maryland and surrounds, many of the houses currently on the market are foreclosures/bank-owned properties or as we pros like to call ‘em - Real Estate Owned (REO). These are properties where the owners have defaulted on their loans and the bank has foreclosed. The bank now owns the home. However, lately, I've personally been calling them Remove Every Option(s). Why, you ask? Because

belair humor: I Need a 12-Step Program and I Need it Now! - 04/03/08 04:47 PM
Hi my name is Lanette and I'm a Nomophobic. (all in unison) Hi Lanette! I heard about this for the first time on April 1st, so I immediately wrote it off as an April Fools joke. Now, I just saw it on the evening news. So, it must be legit, right? Apparently some eggheads in Great Britain are studying this phenomenon in a real research lab somewhere and it's a valid condition. Around 13 million Britons admit to suffering from Nomophobia. Nomophobia is the fear of being without your mobile phone. I'm serious. It's the fear of leaving it, losing

belair humor: I See Another Addendum Coming - 04/03/08 07:25 AM
I'm psychic -- my husband might say I'm psycho, but that's a whole different post. I'm like, um, Carnac the Magnificent (am I dating myself, or what?) because I see yet another Addendum being added to our already overwhelming Residential Contract of Sale. Let's see, we already have upwards of 30 plus pages (contract and assorted addendae) that we need to explain in detail to our deer-in-the-headlights-looking clients and now it'll be 30 plus plus. Did you hear about the buyer that is suing the seller of an Arizona home the buyer bought nearly three years ago because the buyer felt the

belair humor: Soooo..How's The Market? - 03/17/08 08:25 PM
So, how's the market? I hear this question at least once a day and I'm happy to answer it each and every time. Moreover, although it seems to be the obligatory question asked as soon as anyone knows I'm a REALTOR (and I have no idea how they find out since I tell everybody I meet w/in seconds of meeting them-HaHaHa!), it just never gets old (O.K., I'm stretching a little here). So, how's the market? These days, I'm answering the question thusly-- The market's insane! If you're a buyer and you're still sitting on the fence, you'd better get the hell

belair humor: Yet Another Scam - Don't Be Fooled - 03/17/08 08:58 AM
I guess I could devote an entire blog just to scams; it seems there's a new one (or ten...) popping up every day. This latest one is a new one for me, though. I got a call on my cell phone from an 876 area code last night (Sunday) at around 10:30 PM. I received 2 more calls from the same number about 17 minutes later. Interestingly enough, the caller left a voicemail message from "Mr. Shaw" at "eService" from what I could make out. After completing the call I was already on and checking the vmail message, I returned the

belair humor: Halloween in Bel Air - 10/31/07 11:31 PM
On my way dropping off my youngest to pre-school earlier today, I noticed a neighbor setting up for the big night -- or should I say FRIGHT?. I just had to stop and snap a few photos. It was already beginning to be a SPOOKTACULAR event. I mean they were really getting into the SPIRIT of things. I wish you all could have seen the entire effect at night. It was unbelievable -- music (MJ's Thriller, of course!), lights bouncing off everthing, smoke (the entire block was cloudy, seriously...). It was great! Sorry I couldn't capture it

belair humor: SunRocket - To the Moon? - 07/18/07 10:35 PM
I'm distraught Apparently, the VoIP company I've been raving about for years has just gone under and I just found out in an e-mail message from them. I'm embarassed. Last customer count I heard about for SunRocket was around 200,000 and I know I personally helped contribute to that amount to the tune of a dozen. I'm upset. I've been a loyal customer since this company's inception and it upsets me that they went under because they weren't able to make a profit offering such a great product. I'm confused. The Voice-over-internet Protocol (broadband phone service) business is so simplistic in its concept that SunRocket,

belair humor: Moving Soon? How To Choose a Good Company To Move Your Stuff - 02/06/07 04:58 PM
Death, Taxes, Moving... As Realtors, we're often asked by our clients for the contact info of a "good moving company". I sure as hell wish I had one. Just when you think you've hit the jackpot and found a good one, they go and charge your sellers 3x the estimated amount. Offered for your edification are some recent moving experiences of clients, family, friends, and myself-- Got an estimate from a reputable(?) company for moving two households (one was in a storage facility) into one new household 50 miles way (one-way). Representative came out to my Mom's house, saw what needed
