Rocky Point Growth is Booming!

Although Rocky Point is a wonderful place to kick back and enjoy a relaxing lifestyle, community leaders are hard at work investing time and money into Rocky Point's growth. The evidence is all around, as construction projects spring up throughout the community. The Engineers Association of Puerto Penasco announced construction of a new headquarters and the Federal Bureau of Fisheries recently held their ribbon-cutting ceremony at their newly constructed headquarters. Additionally slated to begin this year is construction of the Convention and Visitors Center in Rocky Point.

The Malecon area along the water has been renovated with new benches, planters, landscaping, and updated restrooms. Power lines have been moved underground for enhanced views in the waterfront area, and the area has been newly paved for leisurely strolls throughout this lively part of town. The paving of the boardwalk has been a major project for the city, and will be a great improvement for tourists and residents alike.

At a City Council meeting early this year, creation of the Puerto Penasco Municipal Institute of Culture and Art was approved, and new offices have been established for the local football (soccer) league.

The new terminal at the Sea of Cortez airport has attracted the attention of major airlines, and there is reportedly interest from several airlines in establishing regular flights into Puerto Penasco. All of the work being done to build community infrastructure and bring more jobs to the area is a testament to the great spirit of Rocky Point and the future benefits of owning property here.
