branson real estate: Will the Branson Area Get a New Road? - 02/02/09 05:17 PM

Taney County is one step closer to an east-west corridor road. The Taney County Commission recently voted to put an issue on the April 7th ballot concerning a 4.5 mile road which would connect Hollister to Kirbyville. Voters will be able to vote on a 1/4 cent sales tax to pay for the project. Currently, the only way to Kirbyville is via Highway 76 east or through BB Highway to Coon Creek Road to east 76. This new road would help ease traffic congestion in downtown Branson and on the Lake Taneycomo bridge. However, are the voters willing to incur more … (0 comments)

branson real estate: Accurate Real Estate Data is Local - 09/30/08 10:16 AM

Today I read an article from the Associated Press regarding declining home prices. The article stated "The Standard & Poor's/Case-Shiller 20-city housing index released Tuesday fell a record 16.3 percent in July from the year-ago period, the largest drop since its inception in 2000."

The average consumer, after reading this information, thinks that ALL real estate is worth 16.3% less that it was a year ago. Not true.
The key words here are "20-city housing index." The article doesn't list which 20 cities but does mention Las Vegas. I'm confident that the cities whose data was analyzed were the same … (0 comments)

The new real estate magazine has arrived and you excitedly thumb through the pages of beautiful homes with wonderful descriptions. You find the PERFECT house and call the listing agent only to find out the home has already sold. Sound familiar?
You search on the Internet and scroll through web site after web site to find the house of your dreams. You call about a home that sounds exactly like what you've been looking for. It turns out the home is everything you wanted, except it's located 50 miles from where you want to live. Frustrating, huh?
