living in branson: Branson Airport Grand-Opening Celebration - 09/06/08 06:37 PM

Officials with the Branson Airport recently announced plans to host one of the top ten air shows in the nation during their opening celebration to take place in May of 2009.
This airport will have the distinction of being the first privately-financed and operated commercial airport in the United States.

Branson Airport is located on 922 acres just south of Branson and is a ten-minute drive from Branson's center.
The airlines that will be serving the airport have not yet been announced. According to the Branson Airport website, officials want to initiate service from Dallas, Atlanta, Chicago, and Denver. The … (0 comments)

living in branson: Branson's Annual Olde Time Fiddle Festival to be held August 23, 2008 - 07/12/08 01:41 PM

This is the 20th year for this popular event that draws fiddlers from all around the Midwest. There are divisions for all age groups: Youth, Junior, and Seniors.
This year's location for the contest is the Branson Best Western at 403 W. Main Street. Registration for participants begins at 9:30 a.m. and the final rounds of competition start at 7 p.m.
