Kimberling City is a beautiful town located on the banks of Table Rock Lake in Stone County, Missouri. With a population of 2,253; Kimberling City is the largest town in the county. The city has a total area of 3.8 square miles. Several more homes exist outside of the city limits and have a Kimberling City address. The main attraction in this small town, of course, is the lake. In addition, Kimberling City is only about 15 miles from Branson. Multitudes of people retire here every year from all across the country. It's also a popular spot to own a vacation home

missouri: Shopping for Antiques in the Ozarks - 03/25/08 02:18 PM
One of my favorite "day trips" is antique shopping in Botkinburg, AR. Located about 2 hours south of Branson on Highway 65, this little town is the home of the Antique Warehouse and not much else. But that's okay as it will take you hours to see everything in the warehouses! You'll find all kinds of treasures in the 90,000 square feet of shops, warehouses, and showrooms. Most of the warehouses are filled with furniture, but you can find antique plates, clocks, photos, and other items too. The last time I was there, they also had a whole building of stained glass windows and old doors.

missouri: First Snow of the Year! - 01/31/08 11:24 AM
Much to the delight, I'm sure, of all the kids in school, we received our first accumulation of snow of the winter today! The weatherman is predicting 5" to 10" total snowfall. With temperatures being forecast for Sunday at 38 and 53 on Monday, it doesn't look like it will last long. I would write more but I have to go and dust off the snow disc and get in some sledding before it's gone!

missouri: Branson/Tri-Lakes Real Estate Market Statistics - 01/23/08 09:43 AM
Everyone is curious about our local real estate market, especially in light of all the negative coverage being shown by the media these days. The news in our area is encouraging. For the category of All Homes Sold throughout our MLS, sales were only down 10.8% in 2007, as compared to 2006. Since 2006 was a phenomenal sales year, a 10.8% drop isn't devastating. Also, the average sales price of homes increased in 2007 over 2006; from $167,734 to $183,286. In addition, the average days that homes took to sell (days on market) decreased slightly from 149 to 147. There's even more good news. Sales in the Branson

missouri: College of the Ozarks - 01/21/08 09:43 AM
Just a couple of minutes south of Branson, lies the campus of the College of the Ozarks, also know as Hard Work U. The college is a four-year, liberal arts college and sits on a beautiful, 1,000 acre campus overlooking Lake Taneycomo. Why is it called Hard Work U? All full-time students work 15 hours per week during the fall and spring semesters and two 40-hour weeks when classes are not in session. Also, some resident students may participate in the 12-week summer work program which will be credited toward room and board expenses for the following academic year. Ninety percent

Are you dreaming of owning a home on a few acres in a location that's convenient? Then you have to visit Woodland Hills Estates. This new subdivision features wooded, 3 and 5 acre lots. The location is only 3 miles northwest of the exit to Branson High School. It's a short drive to all of the great new businesses on Branson's north side: Target, Home Depot, T.J. Max, Kohls, Wal-Mart Supercenter (not quite complete yet). It's also only about 25 minutes to Springfield! You'll love the peace and tranquility this subdivision offers. There are only 12 lots-all on a dead end

If you don't like the weather in the Ozarks, just wait until tomorrow and it will change! The Tri-Lakes area is blessed with four distinct seasons. I can't imagine not having a change of seasons.
