...would be extended and expanded to include present home-owners, which would stimulate the Bozeman Montana real estate market.
Apparently, according to key Senate leaders, even non-first-time home owners would be eligible for the expansion portion of the Extended First Time Home Buyer Tax Credit: as long as the non-first-time home buyer had lived in the same home for a minimum of five years, the buyer could purchase a new home and be eligible for a $6,500 tax credit...promising news for stimulating further Bozeman Home Sales.
The First Time Home Buyer Tax Credit extension to April 30, 2010 would give borrowers, whose home was put under contract prior to April 30, 2010, an additional 60 days to close the home sale.

Backbar Background and Other Features
This corner landmark is part of Butte's National Historic Landmark District. Architect Herman Kemma, who began his Butte practice in 1898, designed this attractive landmark at the end of his productive career.
The two-story building of brick and concrete, constructed in 1922 for $45,000, features large arched ground-floor windows and a series of brick pilasters in the upper floor. One of Butte's long-time newspapers The Butte Daily Post moved its printing operation into this building in 1923, without missing a single issue, and continued publication in the building until 1950.
The Pub's tin ceiling and hard wood floors are original. The front and back bar were formerly located at the now-closed Montana Bar on Butte's East Park Street. The Victorian-design front bar is dated 1895, and the back bar is dated 1909, and features tiger mahogany, mother of pearl with ebony and ivory inlays.
The Tax Foundation 2010 State Business Tax Climate Index, measuring how well an individual state's tax system encourages investment by maintaining a broad tax base and low rates, was released September 22, 2009.
The top 10 states for 2010 are:
1. South Dakota 2. Wyoming 3. Alaska 4. Nevada 5. Florida 6. MONTANA 7. New Hampshire 8. Delaware 9. Washington 10. Utah
The State Business Tax Climate Index measures the competitiveness of the 50 states' tax systems and ranks states according to the taxes that matter most to businesses and business investment, which are corporate income taxes, individual income taxes, sales taxes, property taxes, and unemployment insurance taxes. States are scored on these taxes, and the scores are weighted based on the relative importance or impact of the tax to a specific business.
Keeping a state competitive in today's global marketplace can be difficult, but the quality of a state's tax system is one factor the state's lawmakers have direct control over.

The financial crisis dealt a severe blow to the national economy that will take many years to overcome. Unlike any other downturn in real estate since the Great Depression, markets have seen home values decline at record levels. Times have changed as a result, and real estate inflation will take years to return in most areas. Investing for the long term, considered to be 10 years or longer is the best protection for those who choose to take the risk.

Bozeman, Montana's Sweet Pea Is A Festival Of The Arts. The Festival was founded to celebrate the arts in Bozeman and the surrounding region. Sweet Pea continues because Bozeman desires to continue celebrating the arts and the fact that art adds so much to the life of a community.
From The Sweet Pea website:
Founders. The Sweet Pea Festival had its humble beginnings in 1978. It was established to be a community event that celebrates, cultivates and promotes the arts in Bozeman". The founders of this event wrote on April 13, 1977; "a working committee took shape from an amorphous group of Bozemanites dedicating themselves to staging a three day "celebration of creativity" among the community ....".
Volunteer run. Sweet Pea has always been run and organized by volunteers. It has grown from a group of 17 organizers to 35 committees, 50 year-round Board members and up to 2,000 volunteers by the time all is accomplished for the current year.
Giving back to the community. Sweet Pea is the definition of community in its purest form. The original founders desired that the festival support and encourage cultural activities beyond the annual celebration. To this end, the Sweet Pea Festival has a proud tradition of returning any funds gathered beyond expenses back to the community. Any profits realized above and beyond the year's expenses are given back to the community, each year, in the form of grants for arts, arts education and special projects, such as taking care of the beautiful park that hosts the Festival.
Funding. Sweet Pea is funded primarily by the sale of the admissions. The first organizers purchased two button making machines and five committee members created 1,000 buttons each. In 2004 over 19,000 buttons were sold. You can volunteer. Sweet Pea has been an important part of the arts and the artistic and cultural life of Bozeman for nearly 30 years. It is the hope of all of the dedicated volunteers, past and present that Sweet Pea will continue on in the exciting and important tradition it has established and continue to remain the most cherished celebration that it is.
