I have lived in Brevard all my life and watched the area grow from orange groves and mosquitoes to the Space Port of the Nation.

I actually remember when the town of Viera was hundreds of acres of prime pasture land improved and owned by the Duda family.  Actually my first wife's family lived and work on the ranch and I was privileged to ride through the miles of pasture land and look at all the cows and Brahma bulls and wild game that is still abundant on the remaining pasture land today.  My father, Lawrence Fleckinger Sr., now 80 years old is still a small time cattle rancher (about 300 head of cows on the St. Johns River) and we purchased a few Brahma bulls and a horse or two from the Dudas' back in the day. Speaking of the St. Johns river, not many people know that the Duda property boarders the St. Johns river (great bass fishing and hunting!)

But I digress...enough history

Virea is literally a self contain community with some of Brevard Counties best schools, shopping and golf courses.  Many people will move to Viera just to have their children attend the schools in the area.  Of course if you like shopping and eating you will love going to The Avenue outdoor mall with a mulitude of stores, shops, restaurants and a movie theater.  Viera even has a spring training baseball camp, Space Coast Stadium, where you can go watch the pros PLAY BALL.
