The Rowan Cabarrus Community College will make a new home in Kannapolis, which is north of Charlotte NC Real Estate. Rowan and Cabarrus Counties are both north of Charlotte, but they are home to many people who commute to the city. It is only about an hour to Salisbury, which is the county seat of Rowan County. Many people have settled into Salisbury Real estate in order to commute to Charlotte, especially if they work downtown because of the ease of access to freeways. On the west side of town in Latta Plantation Park, there is a center that takes care of birds. It is dedicated to envirnmental preservation and providing education about birds of prey and their habitat. This may seem weird, but this center is located inside the city. It kind of tells you how suburban and green Charlotte the city is. When you fly into the city from somewhere more urban, you really see the difference. The Charlotte Business Journal reports that the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, part of the North Carolina University system, is opening up its ticketing program to the public. They are selling personal seat licenses to people who want to see their school play football in 2013. Football is one of the things that UNCC lacked. Central Piedmont Community College is a part of the state's community college system. They say they were chosen as community college of the year in 2002 by the National Alliance of Business. It's a two year school that offers associate degrees, as well as classes for just about anyone who is interested in just about any subject. There are tons of classes to choose from in tons of subjects at tons of different skill levels. The college started in 1963 as the Mecklenburg College and the Central Industrial Education Center. An article in the Charlotte Business Journal cites a Kiplinger's Personal Finance article that says that the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is ranked as the best deal from public colleges and universities across the country. The Business Journal says that it is the eighth consecutive year that the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill has been at the top of that list. Not only was the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill on the list but several other North Carolina Universities were ranked in the top hundred as well. November 8, Johnson and Wales University will hold an open house for their prospective students at their Charlotte NC campus.
