google: Does how long your register a domain name for make a difference? - 01/14/10 07:21 PM
For 2010 I'm going to launch a couple new websites.  A burning question I've had is does it make a difference in how long I register it for?  According to Matt Cuts from Google, Nope, not really.  You should really focus on content and links before worrying about the number of years your registered.
There are varying opinions on this but I suppose I'm going to have to believe in the word from the top.

google: Hobbs Herder - Yet another reason not hire Hobbs Herder to build your website - 10/04/09 09:02 PM
Hobbs Herder - Yet another reason not hire Hobbs Herder to build your website I received a call from a frantic SEO company who had been hired by their client to optimize their Hobbs/Herder website for better placement on Google.  It seems Hobbs/Herder was unwilling to return calls and he was desperate to know exactly what the story was and wondering if I could provide some insight.

Bing will now handle the search capabilities for Yahoo's popular site.  In exchange for the … (7 comments)

Uppercase letters Lowercase letters Numbers Non-alphanumeric characters, like punctuation Some general guidelines to follow would be:

google: Yeah we get Google juice but what about Yahoo! juice? - 06/01/09 04:53 PM
There's a lot of talk on Active Rain about Google juice.  No doubt if you're blogging here you've experienced it.  If not just head over to Google and type in any common real estate term.  Guranteed that somewhere in those search results is an Active Rain blog post.
So how is it that we get so much Google juice and you don't ever hear about a single drop of Yahoo! juice?  To answer that question you have to know the difference between the two.  Although they are both called search engines by the web community that term loosely describes the two … (41 comments)
