"Have you ever noticed how folks instinctively know that creating wealth is much more fun than spending it, yet they dream more about spending it than they do about creating it?"
I liked this one. My sister sent it to me and it really is an interesting predicament we put ourselves into. It started me contemplating on just how useful it is to focus on bills, mortgages, car payments. Sure you have to pay those things but does focusing on them really benefit you in any way.

Ever wonder how prospects pick their agents? According to a study at from Baylor University's Hankamer School of Business "word-of-mouth" referrals were the top way to find out about prospective agents. Now before the "by referral only" crowd starts beating their chest there's a catch.
Those people seeking "word-of-mouth" referrals aren't blindly taking your word for it. Their next step is a stop by the Internet to check out the prospective agent and their presence in their target neighborhood or area.

It's not what's the price, it's what's the deal? One of my mentors taught me this lesson a long time ago and it is just as easily applied to real estate as it is any other business.
It was common in my previous line of work to get calls from people stating they had quotes from my competitors that blew my pricing out of the water. My reply was always "Yeah, that's the price, but what's the deal?" What are the terms they are extending you? Is that a cash price? Does that price include shipping and insurance?
