new jersey: New Jersey Going Green With Off-shore Wind Power - 12/02/10 11:32 AM
As reported by NJ.com, New Jersey is poising itself to become a leader in alternative energy by broadening it's off-shore wind power initiatives. New Jersey would be the second state to invest in off-shore wind power (the first project is getting underway in Massachusettes). A collation of New Jersey environmental groups and a member of Gov. Christie's cabinet released the National Wildlife Federation's report "Offshore Wind in the Atlantic", detailing the potential for wind power along the east coast and calls on the Federal government for more friendly, less bureaucratic regulations regarding the development of wind power in New Jersey and

new jersey: A Golden Opportunity To Buy A Home - 07/23/10 02:56 PM
During the first half of this year, home sales surged thanks in part to the First Time Homebuyer Tax Credit. This incentive program helped to move homes swiftly and provided a much needed jolt to the housing market which provides employment to thousands, if not millions of Americans. However, since June home sales have been slowing down. In speaking with numerous colleagues, it seems when the tax credit went away, so did many of the potential buyers. What they fail to realize, however, is that there's more than just one incentive to buy a home. Mortgage Interest Rates are at a

new jersey: New Jersey Homebuyer Tax Credit - Seeing the Big Picture - 07/07/10 12:11 PM
The Governor isn't seeing the big picture when he hesitates to approve the New Jersey Homebuyer Tax Credit. In an effort to stimulate the New Jersey housing market, a proposed home buyer tax credit program which was approved by the legislature was met with resistance from Governor Christie. Under the bill (A 1678), home buyers would receive a $15,000 tax credit or 5% of the home's purchase price, whichever is less, over three years, The majority of the $100 million in propsed funding would be dedicated to new construction purchases (about 75%) with the remaining funds going to resales, with the

new jersey: Basking Ridge, New Jersey - 05/06/10 03:00 PM
Recently, we participated in the sale of three homes in The Hills - Basking Ridge section of Bernards township. We've experienced a demand for homes in this area. What exactly makes Basking Ridge such a desirable place to live? "Location, Location, Location" is one of the biggest factors that goes into purchasing a home. Basking Ridge is set in the rolling hills and lush forestry of northern Somerset County, with plenty of breathtaking views and great scenery. Neighborhoods are serene and peaceful. Basking Ridge is a perfect home for commuters thanks to its proximity to New York City, being approximately 50

new jersey: No Incentives for New Jersey Homebuyers. - 07/10/09 02:46 PM
In a time when we need incentives to help move the real estate market, New Jersey chooses not to, by eliminating property tax deductions on next years’ state income tax filing. As most in New Jersey are aware Governor Corzine is temporarily eliminating the property tax deduction on next years’ state income tax filing for all tax payers who earn more then $250,000 and capping deductions for those earning under $250,000. New Jersey, being one of the nations wealthier states, is hurting in the above-average to luxury housing market by taking away this

new jersey: We’re already choking on taxes in NJ! Are you going to let the lawmakers in Trenton tighten the noose around our neck? - 04/23/09 01:03 PM
In the midst of an economic crisis where households are struggling just to get by each day and where the state of New Jersey keeps cutting funding to our schools and municipalities, our Trenton lawmakers want to now take away our ability to deduct our property taxes on our state income tax filings and remove our tax rebates! With little or no funding to our municipality and schools we as property owners must now pick up the burden in increases to our property taxes. Couple that with a loss of tax rebates and the inability to deduct these
