 Come relax and spend a night at the Philharmonic this Saturday evening where the Fort Wayne Philharmonic welcomes two guest artists to the stage.

   The second half on Saturday's concert welcomes swiss born conductor Matthias Bamert to the podium to lead the orchestra in Prokofiev's suite from Romeo and Juliet.

     This Saturday February 12th at 8pm in the Embassy Theatre the Fort Wayne Philharmonic will be presenting two works in their Masterworks series.  Beethovens Piano Concerto #5 more popularly known as the "Emperor Concerto" and Sir Arthur Edward Bliss' symphony entitled A Colour Symphony will be performed.

     This Saturday night October 2nd at 8pm the Fort Wayne Philharmonic will be performing a tribute to Ray Charles with Ellis Hall in the beautiful Embassy Theatre.
     A night of soul comes to The Phil with the music of the legendary singer-songwriter Ray Charles, performed by his protégé, Ellis Hall.  This Saturday September 11th, 2010 is opening night for the Fort Wayne Philharmonic's 2010/2011 season.  This also is the official start to the newly appointed Music Director Maestro Andrew Constantine's Tenure with the orchestra.
   Joining The Phil as guest artist on opening night will be world renowned violinist Gil Shaham playing the Barber Violin concerto.  The orchestra will also perform the Barber Adagio for Strings, Claude Debussy's La Mer and Sergey Prokofiev's Love for Three Oranges Suite

     I haven't blogged about an individual event with the Fort Wayne Philharmonic for  awhile, but this Friday night March 12th could be something special.
 
     Heather Headley, a Northrop High School graduate returns home this week to perform with the Fort Wayne Philharmonic for one show at the Embassy Theatre this Friday night at 8 pm. Tickets can be purchased online through the Philharmonic's website or by calling (260) 481-0777.
