What were they thinking?

As Realtors, we see a lot of homes.  In those homes, we see a lot of ideas.  Not all ideas are good ideas.  Over the weekend I was showing a home in foreclosure.  This was one of the more unique properties I've had the experience to preview.  It appeared as though it could have been the pilot for Extreme Makeover, Bad Ideas Edition.

The weekend home made me think back to a radon mitigation that was done in one of my properties prior to closing.  The work was completed by a professional.  I'm just glad I was not the one paying for this work.radon gone bad  If you can't quite make it out, this system was installed through a shelving unit.  As one can clearly see, these are not nice or really permanent shelves either.  What's worse, the installer of this unit also does home inspections.

Do you have similar stories or pictures?  Attach them with a story in the comment section.  We've all got them.  I'm just sorry I accidentally deleted the wash machine that discharged into a toilet...permanently via PVC.
