nazareth pa: Here's What's Happening in the Nazareth, PA Area for August 2009 in Real Estate - 09/10/09 02:50 PM

Here is what's happening in the Nazareth, Pennsylvania area for August 2009 in Real Estate:

Recommendation:

If you're buying a home, it is important that you work closely with a highly-motivated agent who understands what's going on with the real estate market and local economy.  He/She will be able to advise you on how to get the most for your money and what homes you may want to avoid, as there are homes on the market that are not priced at their fair market value.

If you're selling your home, it's also important that you work closely … (0 comments)

nazareth pa: Craft Sale at Whitfield House and Museum Lawn in Nazareth, PA - 06/16/09 07:05 AM

Saturday, a craft sale was held on the lawn of the Whitfield House and Museum in Nazareth, PA.   It was a gorgeous morning and my husband and I walked around to see.  There were many tables set up and many crafts.

Some were selling jewelry, art work, woodwork, home made sauces and jellies and baked goods.  At one table, a Native American was selling hand made Native American Flutes and drums.  He even played some of them.  They have such a mellow sound.  At another table, a vendor was selling handmade wooden plaques which were in 3D.  I have never seen such … (8 comments)

nazareth pa: Brazilian Dining in Nazareth, PA - 05/25/09 07:55 AM

Rios Brazilian Steakhouse is located in the center of Nazareth, PA.  Everytime you go by the restaurant it smells sooooo good.  This weekend, my husband and I decided to finally try it.

Here is our experience:

When we were seated at a table, the waiter took our drink order.  (All the employees happen to be Brazilian.)  I ordered a "Brazilian Lover".  I'm game for trying anything once.  We were then informed how you were served.

You served yourself at the salad bar.  It had a huge assortment, hot and cold.  There were a variety of salads (green, … (8 comments)

nazareth pa: Nazareth Residents Say Good-bye to an Old Friend - 04/25/09 09:53 AM

Wednesday was Earth Day.  It was also a sad day for Nazareth area residents.

It was a day where Nazareth residents said good-bye to an old friend.  Who was this old friend?  The old friend and long time resident of Nazareth was a tree in the center of Nazareth.  It's home was in the circle for over 100 years.

The tree had shaded many couples sitting under it and witnessed first kisses.  The evidence was in it's trunk, where many initials were carved over the years.

The borough council had decided at it's last meeting that the tree … (2 comments)

Ahhhhhhhh!  I can see and hear spring coming!

It was a gorgeous sunny day in Nazareth, PA today.  So, for my lunch break, I decided to take a walk around town and enjoy the sunshine.  It was still chilly, so I had to wear my winter jacket, but I couldn't resist the sunshine.

As I was strolling through town, I noticed that the lawns were starting to turn green.  Looking up at the trees, some of the trees have set buds already and are ready to bloom as soon as it gets warm enough.

As I walked … (18 comments)

The Indian Tower is located on the outskirts of Nazareth, PA.

The Indian Tower sits at the highest point of the original 5,000 acres in Nazareth.  The original structure was a pavilion called "the Summer House" built in 1867 by John Jordan, Jr.  He later donated $200 to the Moravian Historical Society to replace the pavilion with the present-day tower, which was completed in 1916.  The Indian Tower is commonly thought to have been used as a lookout for hostile Indians.  In actuality, the Indians had been removed from Pennsylvania long before the tower was built, and … (2 comments)

nazareth pa: Taking a Stroll on Nazareth's "Evening on Main Street" - 09/14/08 08:36 AM

Yesterday was a rather nice evening, so I decided to take a stroll on Nazareth's "Evening On Main Street".

As I approached Main Street, cars of yesteryear all the way up to today were on display.  It was the Antique & Classic Car Show.  Boy, did some of those cars bring back memories.  Looking under the hood of the older cars, I was able to actually locate each part of the engine.  That's the way I like it, nice and simple.  Back then all your car troubles were easy to locate.

Continuing my stroll north on Main Street, … (4 comments)
