real estate agent: It's The Agent That Makes the Difference. . . . . . - 03/22/11 08:17 AM
It's time to sell your home and move up to a larger property and home. So many real estate agencies out there with many, many agents to choose from. What should you do to find the right one for you?? First of all, what agency you use does not matter. Sure, some of the brokerages are found all over the nation and claim they are #1. Does that really make a difference? No. It's not the firm that sells your property. It's the individual agent that does all the work. You may think the smaller firms are local and may not

real estate agent: . . . . My Friend Told Me . . . . . . - 05/17/10 09:09 AM
". . . . . My friend told me . . . . ." I hear this every so often in my real estate business. Now, my question is "How long has your friend had a real estate license?" No, they do not have a license to practice real esate. So, what makes them an expert? Oh, they sold a couple of houses in their life time, so they are familiar with the process. Really!?! I recently "lost" a first-time home buyer to friends' advice and suggestions and now he regrets it. Let me start from

real estate agent: Buyer Representation Agreement - Why Sign?? - 05/03/10 09:30 AM
I have worked with a number of buyers and it amazes me how many buyers do not wish to sign a "Buyer Representation Agreement" with the agent that they are working with. First of all, if you are not sure what agent would be a perfect match, start out by interviewing several. Choose the one that is knowledgeable and one you feel comfortable with. Not all agents are the same and therefore, you need to find one you can trust. Any strong relationship is built on respect for each party's needs, expectations, and time. That is why many

real estate agent: Is Your Real Estate Agent Really Looking Out for Your Best Interests?? - 03/29/10 03:39 PM
Then weather is getting nicer with the coming of spring, and that only means one thing in real estate. More homes are placed on the market and more buyers searching for homes. Of course with more homes on the market, more listings and buyers for real estate agents. So, what does that mean? It means that the consumer should interview several agents before deciding to hire anyone in particular. Make sure the agent will be looking out for your best interests. Every agent is different. When interviewing agents, ask questions. Find out what they will be doing for YOU and will they be doing

real estate agent: Interview A Real Estate Agent? Why? Aren't They All the Same? - 06/29/09 08:56 AM
Interview a real estate agent? Why? Aren't they all the same? You are the employer and the real estate agent is your employee. You are hiring the agent to help you with your real estate needs. As an employer, would you hire an employee just by looking at their resume? Of course not! You would want to interview the person before making a decision. Why would it be any different with a real estate agent? Don't real estate agents work for you to take care of your real estate needs? When hiring a real estate agent, qualifications

real estate agent: You Mean REALTORS Do More Than Show Houses?? - 06/18/09 08:15 AM
REALTORS on the buyer's side do much more than show you houses. They have many more jobs to do. Here are the 7 main roles of the buyer's real estate agent: 1. Educates you about your market and the home buying process. Your agent will educate you about the local real estate market and make sure you understand everything you need and want to know about the local home-buying process. 2. Analyzes your wants and needs. Look for an agent who listens and clearly communicates information to you so that it makes sense to you. Your agent will help

real estate agent: REALTORS Doing Too Little?? Think Again! - 05/14/09 09:58 AM
I am under the impression that most consumers think that real estate agents just stick a sign in the yard, enter the listing in the local MLS, show buyers homes and their job is done. Therefore, some feel that they can do the same job selling their own home. Not so. Our jobs entail much more than that. REALTORS do the following: 1. Help consumers through a complicated process. Buying or selling a home requires numerous forms such as disclosure forms, inspection reports, mortgage documents, insurance policies, deeds and multipage settlement statements. A knowledgeable expert will help you prepare the best deal

real estate agent: Who Would You Feel More Comfortable With? - 01/14/08 08:02 AM
My husband and I went mattress shopping this past weekend. Boy, was that an experience! We went into many different stores: mattress stores, department stores, outlets, etc. You name it, we were probably there. What I noticed in every store were the types of sales people we came across. The one type of salesperson we met was a pushy one. This was the type we were dreading. As soon as we walked into the store, she was there. Instead of letting us look around, right away she started her sales pitch. First, we were to lie down on this bed that was hooked
