Realtors are failing everyday, but not the way you think.  I am not talking about a failed escrow or missed lead. The type of failure I am referring to is a result of everyday actions and habits that Realtors are doing, and not doing, everyday . The Realtors that are failing in this market might be the ones that seem the most successful at the moment. Despite their present day success, the Realtors that violate the following areas will ultimately cut their potential far short of what could actually be achieved in their professional careers.

Honesty Sells: A new niche in real estate? - 10/26/09 02:18 PM
I recently came across a unique website. The site features blog posts where people actually submit real life horror stories of less than honest sales transactions. The posts do not mention the organization or people by names, but still can be quite enlightening with details.  They even have a "Hall of Shame" for the worst stories of sales deceit and lies.

Recently, I have been talking to a lot of REALTORS® about the type of services they really want their "repairman/ handyman" contractor to provide. I talked to a REALTOR® yesterday that pretty much summed up what REALTORS® have been telling me with the comment, "Just don't **** up escrow."Some other responses: "...repairs done quickly, so that it does not hold up escrow." "We Just Open Doors!" Really? - 10/15/09 03:29 PM
I was talking to a Realtor friend about a recent job we did on a balcony deck at a property.  The house was in escrow and the termite report came back with section1 wood rot. The bank called out a contractor to bid the repair. The realtor suggested us for a second bid. When inspecting the deck we noticed that bondo was applied on the deck to “repair” previous damage. We checked the records and exactly one year ago the house was sold and the repair was made likely to cure a section1 item. Why bondo? It's cheaper than replacing the … (2 comments)
