The ticking time bomb of old rusty galvanized pipes is wrecking havoc on home-buyers and their agents. The fault may lay with neglected foreclosure and short-sale properties but the ramifications are far reaching for the new owners and the agents who specialize in these types of properties. I never thought about buying a banana at a gas station. I was just paying for gas, but noticed the freshest banana I had ever seen at the counter. Just a single banana. Perfectly ripe. I love bananas but usually miss out on the "perfect timing" of eating a banana in its prime. I took advantage of the opportunity, and began eating it while I waited for my change.

Fact;  250,000 Un-licensed Contractors in California perform over 20 billion dollars in home improvement contracts per year.  Over 50% of the work performed does not meet UBC or local building codes, (universal building codes).
  Ø  75% do not apply for a building or construction permit. (The remaining 25%  get the homeowner  to  apply for a building permit thereby putting all the liability and responsibility for the project into the homeowner's hands).
Ø  There are over 100,000 unlicensed contractors injured on homeowners' property annually. Many sue the homeowner ("employer") for injuries caused on a worksite.
