marketing: A valuable lesson from a used car dealer - 04/06/08 12:05 AM
So I have been in the market for a new car. I have been trying to figure out what I want by going to different dealers and testing out cars that I like. What I discovered has changed my ways of thinking forever. So I went to this dealership, which I thought was very nice. It was an unusually great experience at a used car dealership. What this guy had done was pick a niche and mastered it. He only sold used Mercedes-Benz. Not only did he sell them, he also had a huge repair facility where you could fix your Mercedes-Benz. marketing: The Biggest Mistake I Made When I Started Out In Real Estate - 03/17/08 06:53 PM
When I was new to the real estate business I of course made mistakes. Everyone does. Although I often make little mistakes, nothing compares to this major one I was making over and over again. The biggest mistake that I made was not figuring out how to bring in money for the short term that would keep me going for the long term. I'm sure that everyone knows how expensive starting a real estate business can be. Not only do you have to have money to get into the business you have to have money to carry you for months (sometimes) before (2 comments)

No more worrying about next months business, how you are going to pay your bills, what you are going to do, or stressing about finding business. Business comes to you. Marketing is a process, much like fishing. First you put the bait in the water and wait. When you catch (2 comments)
marketing: Did you see the apprentice last night? - 01/18/08 05:33 PM
I think that we can all learn a lesson or two from Gene Simmons. I loved how on the apprentice last night he never backed down from what he believed in. I love how he has the "who cares" attitude about pleasing everyone and how he says whatever he feels like saying. He stuck to what he believed to be correct in his marketing ideas. He wouldn't let the Kodak executives corrupt his vision of what he believed in. How many of us have a vision or idea that is off target from what everyone else is saying? I will be the first (2 comments)
