Virtually Free Virtual Tours!

A lot of people in my office pay a large sum of money for virtual tours, and I will share with you what I shared with them. You can do a Photo Story of your listings for free. Download Microsoft Photo Story off the web and get started. The only thing that I had to pay for was a head piece with microphone so I can put my voice into the video, and this is optional. Once you create your Photo Story in a few simple steps, you then download it onto a video hosting site, such as YouTube and you are off to the races. With all the advertising costs we have this is one way you can save.

Understanding Different Personalities Can Improve Your Business.

I am on the Education Committee for our local REALTOR Association, and we just hosted a class that I found very interesting. It was based off of the book "Positive Personality Profiles" by Dr. Robert Rohm. Everyone in the class took a test to determine whether we were a D, I, S, or C type personality. I found out that I am a High D.

Here are the breakdowns for each type:

High D:

Basic motivations: Challenge, Choices, Control

Environment Nees: Freedom, Authority, Varied Activities, Difficult Assignments, Opportunity for Advancement

Responds Best to a Leader Who: Provides direct answers, sticks to business, stresses goals, provides pressure, allows freedom for personal accomplishment

Needs to learn that: People are important, relaxation is not a crime, some controls are necessary, everyone has a boss. and verbalizing conclusions helps others understand them better

High I:

Basic motivations: Recognition, Approval, Popularity

Environmental Needs: Prestige, friendly relationships, opportunities to influence others, opportunities to inspire others, chance to verbalize ideas

Responds best to a leader who: Is a democratic leader and friend, provides social involvement outside of work, provides recognition of abilities, offers incentives for risk-taking, creates an atmosphere of excitement

Needs to learn that: Time must be managed, too much optimism can be harmful, listening is important, tasks must be completed, accountability is imperative

High C:

Basic motivations: Quality answers, Excellence, Value

Environment Needs: Clearly-defined taks and explanations, sufficient time and resources to accomplish tasks, team participation, limited risks, assignments that require planning and precision.

Responds Best to a Leader Who: Provides reassurance, maintains a supportive atmosphere, provides an open-door policy, defines concise operating standards, is detail-oriented

Needs to Learn That: Total agreement is not always necessary, thorough explanations are not always possible, deadlines must be met, taking a calculated risk can be profitable, there are varying degress of excellence

High S:

Basic Motivations: Security, Appreciation, Assurance

Environment Needs: An area of specialization, identification with a group, established work pattern, stability within a given situation, consistent, familiar environment

Responds Best to a Leader Who: Is relaxed and amiable, allows time to adjust to a change in plans, serves as a friend, allows people to work at their own pace, clearly defines goals and means of reaching them.

Needs to Learn That: Change provides opportunity, friendship isn't everything, discipline is good, it is all right to say "NO!", being a "servant" doesn't mean being a "sucker"

(Information provided by Personality Insights, Inc. Atlanta, GA http://www.personalityinsights.com/)

Knowing what your personality type is, and knowing how to spot other's type could improve your relationships with your clients, friends, family members, team members, etc.

I found this interesting and kind of fun, so I wanted to share!

Don't pass up any potential buyer in a slow market!

I am new to blogging and have been contemplating what to write about, and today my blog came to me. I went by one of my listings in Due West, S.C. to fill up my brochure box and to put my Relay For Life purple bow on my yard sign. This home is on a gorgeous private country road, and I pulled to the side and got out of my car. I was putting my bow on my sign when I heard someone behind me, thinking that maybe a potential buyer was walking up wanting some information I grabbed a brochure, stood up, and turned around. I was shocked to find a large Sheep standing in front of me....so I asked..Would you like to buy a home? Sadly, the Sheep was already working with an agent. The moral of the story is, Don't Pass up any Potential Buyer in a Slow Market.

To see a tour of the property in Due West please visit this site: http://www.wellcomemat.com/video/D2218F3002
