Realtors Still Buying Listings - 04/17/08 01:10 PM
Within the past week I was in competion for a listing with as far as I know 2 other realtors. I did meet with the sellers last Saturday as they were in town to interview realtors for the purpose of listing the home, which they inherited within the last 6 months or so. As you may have gathered the sellers do not live in Montrose or even Colorado for that matter so their knowledge of this market is limited to say the least. Referrals....Are we making the most of them ? - 04/12/08 10:46 PM
 I find it hard to believe that going to the referral section of AR the State of Colorado that there are not a lot more referral postings going on. The last post was 16 days ago. There are a few hudred realtors who are active in this State on AR surely there should be more postings, are we missing an opportubity? Maybe as realtors we find other avenues to find agents to refer business to? What do you think is going on here ? I haven't looked at other states maybe realtors in your State are more active in this area.

Yesterday, Friday from 4pm til 7pm my partner and I held an Open House in a brand new home just recently completed. Over 100 people showed up during that 3 hour period. We provided food, drink, We spent a couple of weeks planning it, we sent out around 400 invitations to our SOI. In the past couple of years we started doing these types of Open Houses instead of the traditional Sat/Sun 2/3 hour put an ad in the paper put a sign up type open house. Today was a funny sort of day could have been April Fools, but wait a minute that was yeserday. Yesterday I wrote 2 offers on properties for an investor client of mine. Today I found out that one was rejected not even a counter, the other offer we lost out to another offer. Today I also received an offer on one of my listings which by tomorrow  with a little tweaking will probably be a deal. Here is why it's a small world. March 2007   62 Homes Sold   Avg Price $193,989   Avg Days On Market 134    Even though the number of units sold dropped I feel like the market has been picking up of late. The increase in the average price of a home increased greatly this month due to the fact that some high dollar homes sold bringing the average up over last year.
