In order to be effective you must have a Basic marketing plan.

 

First start out with a grassroot marketing approach which is as easy as ordering business cards that specify your expertise in small commercial loans. Then create signage and flyers that promote commercial lending and get them out in your neighbor hood. On your voice message on your office phone and cell phone indicate that you do small commercial lending. Then begin building a referral network through your family and friends by offering them a monetary incentive on any deal that you close that was referred by them. Take a look at previous Loan applications that have came through your office and find all the self-employed business people and give them a call. Find out if their renting and have been considering buying their own place of business. They maybe in need of a refinance because many businesses will acquired their initial loan through a bank but the bank maybe uncooperative in refinancing the note they already own.
