I like to help people understand the process of getting a real estate license.  I am not about recruiting but more into helping people make smart decisions.  Should they do it and if so how do they get started quickly to make a decent living?

I used to say "Take your classes anyway that works for you just get it done so you can get started quicker."But I have come to the conclusion that is not right for most who enter the business, especially those who do not already have strong sales skills.

For me a live classroom environment is the best.  It is only there that you can practice your people skills, speaking skills, asking of questions, and networking. Of course, if taking a live class will not work then look at the alternatives like correspondence and online classes, but only in the last resort.

I also now talk more about what they need to do before they get their license.  For example one step I believe everyone should take is a personality/sales skill assessment test so they early on understand what areas they need to work on to become successful.  One good example of this is The Real Estate Simulator.

What pre-license task can you suggest for someone thinking of getting into real estate?
