A Short Sale (pre-foreclosure) is an agreement wherein a lender agrees to accept less than the mortgage amount owed on the property.  For debt-ridden homeowners, those who are currently in default or those who are “upside down” and owe more than the home is worth, a Short Sale may be the best alternative in order to avoid foreclosure or possible bankruptcy.
