A Little Color From the Historic Plaza in Downtown Santa Fe
I just got back from a long weekend in Santa Fe, New Mexico where I went with my husband for a little R&R.
The first afternoon we arrived, we made a beeline for the historic Plaza in downtown Santa Fe. I remember the local native American Indians had all there hand crafted Indian jewelry on display in the Plaza and couldn’t wait to check it out.
Ok, last time I was there was 12 years ago and I don’t remember the prices quite this (13 comments)
A quick trip to recharge my batteries - 04/29/12 07:45 AM
My husband and I left Friday morning for a quick getaway to Santa fe, new Mexico. It has been fun playing tourist for a few days but now it is time to load up the car and start the 6 hour journey home. I have lots of cool pictures to share with you all once I get back to download the pictures on my computer. It's funny how my eye has been drawn to real estate even while on a mini vacation. Most of the dwellings are adobe style with stucco and rocks. The weather had been mild other than some (6 comments)
Have Lenders Become Complacent to Purchase Transactions
Lately, it seems that the lenders we work with have become complacent to the urgency of purchase transactions.
In Colorado, purchase closing fund at the table with the buyer and seller sitting across the table from each other. We are not an escrow state. This means that the loan documents and funds need to be sent to the title company ahead of time.
When we are representing the buyer, we have been lucky enough to work with some awesome lenders who send figures and docs out two days in (13 comments)
You Know It’s A Good Day in Real Estate When Your Cell Phone Battery Dies
It’s just after 7pm and my cell phone is just about out of juice. I can always tell when its been a busy day when this happens, and lately it happens a lot.
I think back to the November and December months when I could charge my phone every other day. My pantry was organized with all the labels facing forward. The corn and the green beans were lined up in their neat little rows. My desk was free of papers and (14 comments)
I was out walking in the courtyard behind our office with my business partner Will. It has been a mild day with blue skies.
When I looked to the north, I saw these narley looking clouds and decided we might be in store for a shower or two. Luckily Will had the camera so I could snap a couple of shots before the weather changes.

The real estate market in Denver, Colorado is very strong right now. There are many buyers out there looking for that perfect home with interest rates still at record lows. Many buyers feel that rates will go up next year given our current political climate.
Current listings in the Denver Metro Area are way down. This means that if you list your home now, you will have substantially less competition.
After reviewing the statistics in Metrolist this morning, I found that the number of residential listings (5 comments)
We just took a new listing in a complex called The Yacht Club. Don’t get excited. The largest vessel on saw on the adjacent lake was a small fishing boat. It is a nice community with walking access to the Mayham Lake in Westminster. There are ducks and geese and lots of water. When I was walking back to the townhome we listed, I noticed the speed limit sign in the alley. I had to do a double take. It said Speed Limit 13 Knots. I googled the conversion (8 comments)
As a Realtor, I don’t limit myself to one particular area of town when working with clients. Because of that, I get to see lots of neighborhoods in the Denver Metro Area.
It seems that I always find myself working in the same area for a short window of time which I find strange. Some weeks, it is all about Aurora and some weeks I am constantly in Littleton. The past two weeks, I have been up North in the Firestone, Longmont area.

When I was outside yesterday afternoon in front of my house, I heard birds chirping and bees buzzing all around the beautiful blooming crab apple tree in front of my house. It is in full bloom right now and the birds and the bees are just going nuts.
Finally they have a place to celebrate the onset of warmer, sunny days.
Some Days You Just Have to Stop and Smell (Look at) The Flowers
Today was Easter Sunday and I had the opportunity to enjoy the day, my family and the beauty around me. We went to my son and daughter in-law’s for Easter meal and when I walked in, my daughter-in-law handed me a tall Mimosa! Most days I would have thought twice about accepting the drink, but not today and not after the couple of weeks I have had. She could have handed me tequila shots with a lime and salt shaker and I would have jumped in (12 comments)

My dear friend John McCormack has shared such an inspirational story with us today. I am in awe of these incredible firefighters from Albuquerque. With all the Mega Millions hype of late, they won $10k and quietly donated it to one of their own who is in need. Please stop by John's blog and suggest this post so everyone in the Rain can read about these incredible human beings! We get some strange weather in Colorado and today is no different. On Sunday, I was out showing homes with my air conditioning blasting and my bun coolers set to high. The temperatures were in the low 80’s. I got home and turned the central air on at my house.
Last night when I got home, I could almost see my breath in the house and my hands were ice cold. Back on with the heater.
This morning I woke up to a white slushy blanket outside.
