The project on the site of the former Big Pig grocery store will contain 133 condominiums priced from $160,000 to $350,000. Twenty percent of the units will be made available for first-time homebuyers. Norfolk - Norfolk's light rail project is scheduled to receive $128 million in federal funds beginning on October 1, which means that construction on the light rail line will begin by early November. HUD'S NEW RULING JUST IN - 10/04/07 09:01 AM
Home Buyers HUD has just issued a final rule prohibiting the use of down payment assistance programs where a seller or other interested party (agent, lender, builder), places funds with a non-profit to facilitate the borrower down payment. Local updated 10/2/07 Chesapeake - The city is beginning its budget process and is seeking citizen input earlier than it has in any previous budget cycle. Public comment sessions are scheduled for Mon., Oct. 1, at South Norfolk Library, 1100 Poindexter St. Tues., Oct. 2 at Russell Memorial Library, 2808 Taylor Road Wed., Oct. 3 at Major Hillard Library, 824 Old George Washington Highway Thurs., Oct. 4 at the sheriff's training room, 401 Albemarle Drive.
