Talking about Men...P. C. (Humor) - 04/30/09 05:29 PM
OK, I give up, 3 times and I give in.  I have been told 3 times today, that I have become boring in my blogs the last few days.  So, I decided to clear up some misconceptions about MEN!
We do NOT have BEER guts...We have liquid grain storage facilities!
We are NOT get falling down drunk. quiet...We are Conversational Minimalists!
We do NOT get lost all the time...We discover alternate destinations!
We are NOT balding...we are in follicle regression!
We are NOT cradle robbers...We prefer generational differential relationships!
We do NOT get falling down drunk...We get accidentally horizontal!
We are NOT short...We are … (13 comments)

And Now in the Center Ring... - 04/30/09 11:56 AM
Ladies!!! and Gentlemen!!!   Now performing in the Center Ring....Bill Feela and his juggling act.
OK, OK...so I may not actually be in the circus, but it does feel like it some days.
I have been in the process of platting some lots for a client.  As in almost every plat and Real Estate deal as of late, many thing can and do go wrong.
When you get to the court house to do the checks that are needed you are told...SEE THAT HOOP...if you can jump through that, you can go onto the next step.  Then the next step … (10 comments)

Take the road less traveled! - 04/29/09 06:53 PM
While on Vacation we were driving around looking a the local country side.  I always try to find areas of little travel.  While driving I yelled, "Hang ON!", and I made a fast left turn onto a semi paved road.  We rounded seveal curves hoping that we wouldn't meet another car on this one horse road.  Then I seen the stream...

Across the road from it was the best find...

A church in the same condition it was when the people of these Branson Hills built and worshiped here.

It was still draped with the Easter colors.   It … (13 comments)

Undeniable Pet Truths! - 04/27/09 05:35 PM
For more that 16 years I owned and ran  Pet Shop.  I heard  all of the stories about what my customers pets were doing.  How smart, how maddening, and how cute.  This is a list I seen many years ago that still holds true today...

Buy a dog a toy and it will play with it forever.  Buy a cat a present, and it will play with the wrapper for 10 min.
Although cats are rather delicate animals, and are subject to a great many ailments, I have never seen one suffer from insomnia.
Dogs and cats instinctively know when their … (17 comments)

Man Law...DO NOT VOTE to Repeal! - 04/25/09 08:19 PM
I was out and about wiht clients today.  A very nice and fun couple looking to upgrade to the next level of home.   The Mrs. was the talker and planner.  We came to a very nice home and she started moving in. (Her way of feeling out the home).  We wandered into the garage.  Right away she starte talking about taking out the work bench and builing in some storage cabinets.
I stopped her and told her that, As per law, she was not allowed to do that.
She gave me a confused look, "Really, I have never heard of … (14 comments)

Are they now emboldened, and how about others? - 04/25/09 08:54 AM
Here is a question that has floated around the coffee clutch that I frequent.  North Korea has had these two jounalists for some time now.  They have been debating the idea to charge them with a crime.  So, along comes I ran, grabs this jounalist, charges her, and the Great US of A says, OH PLEASE let her go.
We have not tried to assert any real pressure anywhere.  So, North Korea sees this and says...HELL, we can do that too.
So, how about other countries.  Are we being seen as weak becasue of MANY recent events that we have been … (9 comments)

Anticipation... - 04/24/09 10:57 PM
This weekend my wife is hosting a Baby shower.  No, not for us, but for the next grand child.   This time around it will be a Grandson!  (my prediction).  In some ways there is nothing like a new baby (as compared to an old baby) to pump some extra life into a family.
This is my Step-son and his wife, and to say I am excited well let's put it this way.
I have already picked out for him, his first baseball mitt, fishing rod, gun, and hunting clothes.  also the best things to take to show and tell, ( … (6 comments)

Another Funny Friday...not in reality! - 04/24/09 05:59 PM
It has been a trying week.  I have been working on a plat and it seams every time I think I have things under control another Atty. is in the mix mixing things up again.  So, here is one for them...
Three doctors are discussing the ideal patient.  The first one says, "I prefer Librarians, their organs are in alphabetic order."
The 2nd declare, "Mathematicians are best, as their organs are numbered."
The last one said, " the best patient is an Atty.  They are gutless, heartless, spinless, brainless, and their heads and rear ends are interchangeable!"

At times I think … (7 comments)

Nose to the Grindstone!!! - 04/20/09 03:23 PM
Ok, last week was Play, (including the Rain), but today is back to work.  My staff did a fantastic job keeping the place from burning down.  I was able to keep up with clients, and it has taken most of today  to catch up on all the back burner stuff.
Along with that, I knew that things were heating up in our area, and we have seen 7 new calls today alone.  For a small company as ours, that is very good compared to the last few weeks.
So, today I say THANKS, to my agents for handling everything as I … (6 comments)

Homeward Bound... - 04/18/09 08:13 AM
Well, after being gone for a week and having a very hectic schedual, I am heading home.  I have met many people on this journey, and have had many a laugh.  Some of the best people we the ones we met at the hotel's breakfast area.  The latest great story went like this...
A Father came home from a long business trip.   Whenhe see his son a a new bike, he asked him
"Where did you get that bike, it must have cost $300".
"I earned the money by hiking," said the son.
"Now don't lie to me, where did you … (7 comments)

Keep your eyes wide Open! - 04/17/09 06:44 PM
Most of you who follow my blogs know that I have ben on vacation.  We are traveling in several different states.  While traveling, I got the chance to read a lot of small plaques with differnetsayings. Many are directly aimed at the local population, but many apply all over.  Here are a few of my favorites.
In every childhood, a door opens nd the future comes in.
The probabiliy of being watched is directly proportional to the stupidity of the act.
Cloud nine gets all the publicity, but it's cloud eight that is cheaper, less crowded and has a better view.

Paid for itself....(Humor) - 04/16/09 11:24 PM
I had the chance to go through a home improvement show a few weeks ago.  People were milling around DREAMING, thinking of the improvements they were thinking about doing.  I heard one vendor say..."once installed this unit will pay for itself".  I have heard that a lot and it reminded me of his...
The young Blonde bought a fixer upper home.  She had new windows installed and after about a year the company called her...
"Miss, we are still waiting for payment"
What do you mean?" asked the blonde.
"You haven't paid for the job we did for you."  She replied,

The Battle of the Bulge!! - 04/15/09 10:56 PM
I have done this battle for a long time.  I have great respect for thowse that win, even if it is temporary.  I have tried for years, I lose a few and gain a few.  Will power is the biggest factor. I don't hve what I need.  Now I think I understand my problem.
I went to my Dr. the other day, and told him I was on "3" diets, and I still can't lose any poundage.
"3"? He asked...
"Yea" I said.  I found I couldn't get enough to eat on just one!!

HUH!? (Humor) - 04/14/09 08:44 PM
I have been on the run for the last few days.   A bit of stress, but having a lot of fun.  I have heard quite a few good stories.  Here is the best one I have heard.
Sitting at a table with a few friends,  during a celebration of their 56th anniversity, the Lady says to her husband...
"I Love you...You are tried and true."
"Huh", he replied....
A bit louder she repeated herself, and again the gentleman said :HUH?
Now nearly shouting, she said..."I said you are tried and true."!
To which he replied..."I'm tired of you to!!!

A great game for Easter or any get together! - 04/14/09 12:41 AM
For our Easter Egg huntthis year, the host of the party threw a curve ball. (OK EGG)  It was a hunt with a mix of challanges and speed.
We were to find one color of egg.  You got a clue for your first one.  When you found it, there were two peices of paper, along with some cnady for energy.  One paper was a clue to your next egg.  The othe was your challange.  First you complete th challange and then look for the next egg, which is another clue and another challange.
We had a blast.  My wife and I … (9 comments)

A Cowboy walks into a Barber shop and askes for a shave and his boots shined.  While the barber is lathering him up, a very pretty young lady kneels down in front of him and starts shinning his boots.
The Cowboy was very smitten by her ans said, "Miss, I think you and I should leave here and find a hotel room."

Yup...she taught me again. I keep on learning! - 04/11/09 12:14 PM
Spending time with kids, will make you much smarter. They see the simple things in life and will teach us well if we are willing to listen.  My Grand Daughter is old enough to understand the jokes and even tell them fairly well.  Here is her gem of the week.
Grandpa...What does a cow say?
Me: MOOOO!
What does a cat say?
Me: MEOOWWWW!
Then what does a Frog say?
Me: RIBBIT!
Grand Daughter:  NOPE, a frog says...(IN a deep voice) BUD....

I STAND CORRECTED.

10 Years of Bliss...I think?! - 04/11/09 08:52 AM
Yesterday my wife and  I celebrated 60 years of Marriage.  I know, I know, that's is hard to believe, but it's true.   You see, My wife and her late husband were married 30 years, My Ex Wife and I were married 20 years, and Judy and I have been married 10 years.  THAT'S 60 YEARS!!!
We looked back at the Dating times and then at our current married time.  This is what we found!!!
When dating...Farting is never an issue.  When Married, My wife makes sure nothing flammable is near me at any time.
When Dating...I took her out for a … (19 comments)

Is your agent working in his or her 'comfort' zone? - 04/10/09 04:48 PM
I was asked to set a showing for one of the rural properties that I have listed.  The Buyers agent asked if I could be at the showing.  The sound in his voice intrigued me and being the property is only a mile from my house I said sure.
When they got there, I understood why.  This guy was a city slicker through and through.  One of the first statements from him was..."Will you please tell my client that you don't get EGGS form chickens."
"Ummm, I can't do that."
"Why?"
"Because", I said, "Chickens do lay eggs?"  The look was of astonishment.  … (11 comments)

Today we Mourn the loss of a Friend. - 04/09/09 04:56 PM
Ok, maybe she really wasn't a friend in that sense, but many had become fond of her even though they had never met.
I am talking about Samantha, the Bald Eagle.  For those of you who have no idea what I am talking about see my blogs...
4-06...Uncle Sam...Revisited...update!
4-03...It's our National Symbol...and we Named it Uncle Sam!
Samantha had a much more severly fractured left wrist that first thought.  Joints are something that are extremely hard to fix.  It would have been a source of constant pain and prone to injury for the rest of her life.  So, today, the … (12 comments)

I love my Elderly clients! - 04/08/09 09:46 PM
Just like kids, you never know what an elderly person will come up with.
I just got home from a listing presentation...Mr. Seller (all of 89) did almost all the talking.  Mrs. Seller, smiled a lot and I could tell she was kinda bursting at the seams.  Business was done and we were just chit chatting.
Mrs. Seller all of a sudden asked if I enjoyed a good joke.  Sure I do!  So this is what she came up with...

Spring is here and summer is on the Way, What are your Emergency Plans? - 04/07/09 04:28 PM
Summers are nortorious for emergencies.  A good portion of our country is in the "Tornado Alley" part of the country.  But that isn't the only emergency situation that occurs.  Being prepared and being safe could save your life or the life of a loved one.
Tonado's, lightening and other related storm dangers will be covered by local news and weather stations.  Do you know where it is safe until the storm has passed.
How about finding someone with a heart attach...WHAT should you do first.  Take a CPR and First aid course.  It may be your own that you save.

Uncle Sam...Revisited...update! - 04/06/09 04:47 PM
Back on April 3rd, I posted a blog..."It's our Nations Symbol...and we Named it Uncle Sam."
Quickley, I caught an injured Eagle.  It could not fly and in short I turned it over to the Rapture Center which is part of the University of Minnesota.  Many of you wanted to know the progress, and some other answers.

First off, Uncle SAM is actually...Aunt Samantha!  Yup, This is an adult female and she was sitting on eggs.  They could tell because of the missing feathers on her stomach that they pull out to line the nest and make it easier to keep the … (7 comments)

It's getting Late and I am getting punchy. - 04/04/09 10:35 PM
We have all had those times when we really didn't want the other party to know what was realy going on.  So imagine this...My wife and I are going out for a social get together.  I put the cat outside.  We go to leave and the cat runs back into the house. I didn't want the cat to have free run of the entire house, so my wife goes to the cab and I go to retrieve the cat.
Unknown to me, my wife didn't want the cabbie to know what I was doing, and she didn't want hm to know … (20 comments)

Now is the time to Check out that Recreational Land. - 04/04/09 07:21 PM
The trees are bare, but the woods and fields are coming alive.   That piece of Recreational land will be waking up soon and growing into a lush scene of green, maybe blocking out all visibility past 5 feet.
Now is the time for the hunters to go afield and look for signs of game.

This shed antler from a deer can give you an idea of what the quality of your quarry may be like.  Now, with the leaves still in their buds, is a good time to see the game trails.
Not a Hunter...you aren't left out.  If you … (4 comments)

I can tell by your eyes! (Mild Humor) - 04/04/09 08:53 AM
Coffee with the guys at the Bakery is a ritual that I enjoy.  Most are retired and just have nothing to do but solve the worlds problems.   This morning one of the told us about what happened that last night when a cop pulled him over...
Ya, I seen the colored lights flashing so I pulled over.  This young officer I see here in the Bakery walkes up to the car and shines his light in my eyes..."Sir your eyes are a bit bloodshot, have you been drinking?"
"So I asked him...can I see you eyes, so he tipped the light … (18 comments)

It's our National Symbol...and we Named it UNCLE SAM! - 04/03/09 12:04 PM
Well, it started like any other day.  Phone calls, and appointment, more calls and then winding down of the day.  I had a little time, and with the   weather as is has been lately, I have been stuck close to the house lately.
So today, I decided that being I was caught up and under control, I was going for a walk in the woods to look for shed deer antlers.  I was only a couple hundred feet into the woods when I seen A Bald Eagle only about 40 feet from me.  It was sitting about 10 feet off the ground … (16 comments)

I Love a spring Snowfall!! - 04/01/09 10:48 AM
Now let me say that I do feel sorry for the people up in the Red River basin, as the severe flooding is not being helped with this additional moisture.   That being said...
I Love the spring Snowfalls.  They are a pretty site, covering all the brown and dead looking vegetation with a clean white look, almost angelic!
The Best part, is that it doesn't last long  After two hours today, most of the snow is off the trees and on the way to melting, BUT not before I got a few pics.  Hope you enjoy.
