Who do You Trust?
The question of trust is at the forefront of our lives everyday.  Many times a day.  This may help clear the air...
A young boy was sitting in church, and for once the sermon caught his attention.  The Pastor asked everyone Whom do YOU trust. 
The next day, this same boy went to the local beach.  When he got there he looked around and saw a lady sitting under an umbrella for shade.

I am not a big Techy, although I think I am crawling into the 2000's now.  I at least know what the iPod is and does.  A friend of mine has helped me understand the iPod Series...
It all began with the iPhone...
This past March, for my son we got him an iPhone.  He loved it.  Who wouldn't!
 
I celebrated my Birthday in July and my wife bought me an iPad.

In August, for my Daughters Birthday I gave her an iPod touch.


In October, my wife's Birthday rolled along and I bought her an iRon.

I have many times heard someone jump in and answer a question before the entire phrase is given.  here is a great reason to listen first....
A drunk man stumbled onto the subway.  he sat down next to a Priest, opened his paper and started to read.

As I grow older I find being top dog is tougher all the time.  The harder I try they young and energetic seam to creep past me.  But as they do, I know that I am working smarter.   Here is an illustration of what being top dog is like...

Every now and again I receive an E-Mail that I am happy to pass along.  Common courtesy is one thing that is lacking in our modern day society.  Although, this could have taken place anytime in the last 100 years...it still fits today.
A man decided to visit a local church.  He got there early and pulled into a parking place.  Another car pulls up alongside and a man get out..."Hey, you took MY parking spot...I always park there!"

Not everybody is whinning about the Minnesota cold weather! - 01/23/11 08:13 PM
The cold and lately the brutal cold...as some put it isn't putting a damper on everyone.  Many resort owner that rent fish houses and or put them on the lake and store them for you are have a great year up to now.
The lakes in my area froze over the earliest in many years and that had many more people putting their ice houses on the lakes.  When the lakes freeze over later, many don't go through the cost and hassle for a few short weeks.

My thermometer hit -29 below.  YAHOO!!!!   Yea, it was a bit brisk this morning, but it was great.  All around me I heard the complaining and I had not even left the house!
In town, I hit the gym...quiet...one person came in and said that if they had realized how cold it was he would have stayed home.
I did my errands and the stores were near empty.  No line at the Post Office.   HMMM, I could get used to this.

I am at awe of people who are married over 50 years and still have not killed each other.  We received 2 invitations this week alone, one for 65 years.   God has blessed them for sure...Or has he?

Yesterday, I wrote about a customer Service problem I was having.   It involved a large delivery and after some hassle, I received my order.  The next action was I was heading to the store to talk with the Manager Face to Face.
I was just finishing up my phone calls and a few other pressing issues when the door bell rang.  Here was my store Rep.  I am registered as a contractor with this company.  He had heard about the problems I had, and had talked with the store manager.

With another birthday coming soon, I am reminded, especially by my wife, that I am not as young as I used to be.  I can't do what I used to do, or, at least not as fast.

It really simple.  Just a bit of elbow grease is all it takes.
Here are a few tips that can reap rewards...
Wash the Dishes:  You need to in order to eat again anyway, so do it before the showing.
Make the beds: OK, you don't need them made to sleep again, but it makes the buyer feel like the home is clean.
Vacumm the rug:It is a simple thing.  If you vacuum the nap of the rug will be lifted up again and the carpet will look newer than it does all matted down.

Wake up and smell the coffee.   What would possess you to spend that much money and not have expert advice.
What would make you think that you know how to fill out a Real Estate contract that will protect you if something goes bad?
Where did you come up with all the local information that tells you what needs to be inspected before the sale?  (If you are wrong the cost of inspection and repair WILL be on you!)
Are you sure that the seller is giving you all the required disclosures.

I have been fielding questions on a site I am on about renting.  Most people have no idea what it cost's to rent and are looking for a place they will have no chance of keeping current on.
I know that not every family has been touched hard by this economy, but, come on people, what are you teaching your children.
But, because you are not teaching them, I will and I will be hard on them so they understand what life has to offer.  And, someday...they will thank me.

Where did the Circus go? - 01/06/11 04:32 PM
As I shared in December, I had a large Pole building burn down with all kinds of personal property.  That property also included the Van I drive and the motor home we were taking our long vacation in this summer.
But, hey, I am not complaining.  We are alive and unhurt.  The interesting thing about this experience is that I was bombarded with very good intentioned friends and neighbors about how to proceed with the insurance company.

This is a good thing.  I have just received a windfall and I am going to take full advantage of it.
My wife gave me some mail from just before the holidays and there was a letter.  "I", That's right "ME", have won the 'Publishers Clearing House Drawing."  Yup, any day you should see me screaming and jumping around like a mad man.  (Required in order to collect the check.)
So, with this great fortune I am going to rewrite my goals for this year and maybe just sluff off a bit.  Heck, I may just go fishing for a change.

Not Everyone who was foreclosed on is a dead beat! - 01/01/11 07:19 PM
This is just a little something to think about when looking at rental apps.
There are many good people out there who have poor credit because of a foreclosed home.  Many of these people lost a job or even both jobs.   In the current job market, finding another can be very challenging at times.
When talking to an applicant with marginal credit because of a foreclosure on their record, ask Why.  If they lost thier job and now have been working, they could be a great renter even with the lower score.
